Bangladesh's pace department, the backup bowlers & WAPDA's 283/4 on Day 2

WAPDA has scored 383 runs for the loss of only 4 wickets on Day 2 of the 4-day match.

Alamgir Kabir took 2 wickets for 68 runs.

Jamal Babu and Monjurul Rana took a wicket each for 101 and 63 runs respectively.

Anwar Hossain Monir and Mosaddek Hossain Rubel are the other bowlers for the BD 'A' team.

I don't know what Bangladesh will do with this kind of back-up bowling attack.

Since learning about Whatmore's interview with Sameercreep, one thing is hovering in my minds- if the following are not going to be in BD national team for the Zimbabwe team, then who will?

Then we are only left with only one serious pace bowler of Tapash Baisya.

Others are simply "slow medium pace" or "gentle medium pace", namely, Tareq Aziz Khan and Alamgir Kabir. Anwar Hossain Munir has got some bounce, but that is only because of his height, and from the looks of things, even Alamgir Kabir is a better bowler than Anwar Hossain Munir on record.

Oh, by the way, the other "slow medium pacers" that we've got in our armory are the all-rounders Mushfiqur Rahman and Khaled Mahmud.

And Zimbabwe have got plenty of such "slow medium bowlers" - Gary Brent, Sean Ervine, Travis Friend, etc. And they've got three bowlers with some firepower - Streak, Blignaut, and Hundo.

I guess we should concentrate on who our "line and length" bowlers are, and take only such bowlers. I was just hoping to take bowlers in the Zimbabwe tour who have the ability to take 3 to 5 wickets in an innings - it would have made our path to win a test match in Zimbabwe easier.

read the latest after day 3 on crickinfo if it's not on the latest update section on this board. looks like BD is getting whacked. Set a target of about 350 to save the match, they are 180-something for 6. Hannan got another 50 but shahriar flopped again. Looks like they will lose the match by lunch.
