As a Host don't make a pitch on which you are afraid to Bat first
I am still fuming over this loss. I just can't digest the fact that we let a golden opportunity slip away due to poor tactics.
Most teams look to bat first in Test cricket because pitches deteriorate and batting starts to become difficult on days 3,4 and 5. So as a host if your team starts sweating at the slightest tinge of green on a Mirpur surface then simply don't go for it. Lets face it.. have there been many (any?) occasions where choosing to bowl first paid off for us? Do we have an experienced pace attack that can run through an opposition quickly (read two hours of overcast conditions) on bowling friendly conditions? I would say the answer to both question is no. So unless you have the confidence (ballz) in your batting that yes we are technically equipped to survive the first two hours on any surface, especially even after your openers put on a RECORD partnership the test before, then DON'T go for such surfaces!
As long as we have cowards leading the team decisions we should have the following template for Mirpur:
i) Prepare a pitch that stays flat and offer some turn for the spinners for 3 days after which it starts to crumble with uneven bounce and turn.
ii) Win the toss and bat first for the best part of two days and accumulate a huge first innings score
iii) Unleash our army of spinners on the opposition

^^ Totally agree with above post. If you want our players to cope with sporting pitch then prepare such pitch for FC games , but not actual test matches. Thus our players will be able to play swing/seam bowling better on green-top, but will remain competitive in test matches.
Basically BCB needs to do exactly opposite of what it is doing now! Some (but not all) green-tops for FC matches and flat-turner for test matches.

Bangladeshi players dealt 'sporting pitches well in AUS-NZ last World Cup. But I guess test-bowling is different from ODI's; at test one can bowl as many bouncers and really wide off, no limitation. At ODI's there's limitation and you can't bowl really wide it will be called wide.
So, yes our batsmen can play on sporting wicket but at ODI's and not at test much unless they get used to it! So we need some lively, pace bowling friendly wicket. I think the pitch in Sylhet Stadium will be lively it's lush green surrounding hilly area, bcb needs to make few wickets least lively with nice bounce and carry with little bit of swing! That can only benefit the batters when they tour abroad !

Another flat track would have made the game much more interesting. Misbah is an experienced captain and he prepared his team very well ahead of the second game.

But we have played in NZ, far greener and other bouncy pitches very recently. Practiced in their nets. The lightest hint of green shouldn't make us afraid to bat first.
The difference is in leadership.

You say much as you like how good is opposition is but this test match lose is more due to our own fault not how good the opposition is, at the same time we all know they are ranking much more higher than us.
I think what we did from management to players all should take blame for this test match.
