Hopes remaining for BD in the Champions Trophy?
Is there any hope for BD after seeing the current performaces of WI and Sl. I think BD is in great challenge. Sl has just drawn the series against Eng and Wi is showing top form against India in both ODIs and test.

BD has nothing to lose. On the other hand, the other teams have everything to lose, which will mount as a big pressure for them. So, I am quite optimistic about BD's chances.
Another thing, we are taking it for granted that we will certainly win against Zim. If the BD players and management also think so and take it lightly, there is big chance that we are losing against them as well.

"There's neither optimism nor pessimism; there is hope." I want to grasp the words by White House spokesman Tony Snow.
If we play with determination and responsibility, there is hope.
In this tour, India were overconfident and complacent, may be same for England.

Bangladesh team, a cricket team. A team barely alive (hanging on to the test status). We have hope, we have the technology. We can rebuild them. ta ta ta taaaaaaaaaaa ta ta ta ta tanka tanka tanka. we have a team that represents 14 million people. - Quiz. What this resembles with?

completely different conditions than early summer england and carribbean.
plus, its still 4 months away, no?
remember the windies have played well...can they keep it up?
SL has also overachieved...will Murali play ODIs?
BD always has a shot in the ODI game...3 years ago, we looked for some individual 50s, keep ppl under 250 bowling first, et al.
now we can hope for winning ever single ODI

6 million dollar man introduction.
Steve Austin, an astronaut. Man barely alive. We can rebuild him. We have the technology....ta ta ta....
The tanka tanka part was from "উনমাদ" mocking the TV series.

I hope BD players will click in the CT. I still think Sri Lanka or WI is not to ahead from us in the ODIs. If our players show some respect to the team spirit then definitely we can hope for the best result.

Lets not look beyond the current toors. The ODIs in Africa are not settled yet. We may loose a bunch there too. I would speculate on CT only when they are back.

Entering a game as Underdog has the advantage of being devoid of extra tension and the players can play their natural game with no impetuous effort. Now BD might have a chance because of that to get an unexpected win against Lanka/WI since the opponents might flounder while pushing themselves in showing the feat matching an expected level.

hi
okay... why does it have to happen everytime BD is gonna play against will be in top form. Look at Australia before coming to BD they were in top form too as they whitewashed South Africa in the home soil!
Is it a coincidence? Now its happenning to windies and srilis. I was wanderin what will happen to indians when they realize this. They will be more keen to play against us!

Thunder,
Great observation. however, that fate was leased till end of 2006 from India. After the lease ends it would be returned to India. So, in March 2007, they would face BD in top form. We will return the favor and dish out some of the beatings to both SL and India.
