Places to eat in London
Can you tell me of the various places in London that have significant south asian restaurants or a place with a majority of Halal restaurants.
I know of Brick Lane, Southall, Green Street and Edgeware Road. Where else in London do they have good restaurants?

As Nadim said pretty much everywhere. Try New Road off Whitechapel, Commercial Rd, Barking, Eastham, Walthamstow in East London. Tooting and Balham in SW London. You reallly dont need to go as far out as Southall

If you are around Tooting area, go to Lahore Karahi. I'm boycotting them since they were rude to me, but the place is quite famous... it's jampacked every weekend. There are tons of other halal places around here... even the South Indian / Sri Lankan places are halal (try Dosa Chutney next to Tooting Broadway station for awesome dosas).
A little further up North on the high street, close to Balham, there is an awesome Nepalese restaurant, and a pretty decent Thai place... not sure about the halal-ness there, though.
Also, definitely not halal, but Mayfair near Oxford Circus is pretty good Chinese (£££ though)

You can try authentic Chinese AND Halal in Walthamstow. It doesn't leave a hole in your pocket either

Any specific restaurants?
And yeah as has been mentioned you are on track with the locations but Southall is over-rated and not worth the long trip. Try out Maedah Grill and Tayyabs at Whitechapel.

If you're looking to eat out in a buzzing London area, try Souk Medina in Covent Garden. Halal food, great atmosphere, belly dancing and the lot.
Loads of great Arab/middle-eastern restaurants in Bayswater.
Check toptable.co.uk for restaurants in all parts of London.

Used to be at least two more Halal Chinese in Walthamstow. You can also try Fusion Chinese at Upper Tooting Rd.
I see Tayyab is still going strong. Have they taken over the whole Fieldgate St. yet?
Used to frequent Tayyab in its nascent days...Some very good memories!

Thanks. I noticed Tooting has been mentioned several times, does that area have a lot of restaurants? I'm hoping to go to areas that have a lot of restaurants so that I can have a look from the outside and make my mind up, rather travelling a long way to find out the restaurant that's been recommended isn't that good.
