Trust me, Naeem and Riyad will not be much worst bowler than out top 4 bolwers. Most likely one of the top four bowlers will take the hnnor of being the most expensive bowlers in this game.
Nayeem and Riyad is fine as bowlers for this kind of format. Somtimes we worry too much in in wrong places.
T20 is all about batting. Can our top 4 batsman deliver what is needed to be competative? thats where we need to worry.

In reality this sort of things happened several times...there was a time we got bundled out under 13 overs.

This is a horrible team selection. It tells me the coach and managemnt are novice when it come to basic game strategy. How many time we saw pacers were giving away huge runs and finally the spinners were brought in to slow down the run rate? It happens all the time and in forms of cricket againt the likes of AUS, NZ in their homeground.

Prediction: If NZ bats first they will score 200 and if they bat second I see the game is over around 16 overs.

There is no point palying 3 pacers against NZ at hamilton! The pacers will get slaughtered. First 3 overs: 45 runs...spinners will be brought in to slow down the rate....but towards the end it will be the pacers again to open the floodgate and Kiwis are home losing 2-3 wickets or scroring 200 runs easily.

I am glad that the selectors are giving ample opportunities to some players like Raqibul. That rarely happens unless your name is Ashraful. I guess he is there to the lone guy to hold the fort, if he can for 1 over. Recently he doesnt last more than few balls. But other than that, I think this should be the ODI squad as well.. I mean who is the T20 expert here other than Aftab? Alok wouldve been another good contestant for T20 with his bowling skills but he is not in form now as it appear. Nevertheless, it appears that the Captain, Coach are all hyped up and going for the win. Against India, they were asking for a good play, this time they are expecting series wins!!! what a change. Even Cricinfo attests such notion... Lets see if they can back it up with work.

NZ cant play spin well, and lack of pace can do the magic!
My T20 Team would have been:
1. Tamim
2. Junaed
3. Aftab
4. Ash
5. Shakib
6. Riyad
7. Mushfiq
8. Nayeem
9. Razzak
10. Enamul Haq Jr. (Saqlain Shajib)<--Specialist Spinner
11. Rasel (Nazmul)

BTW, any news if Ash will play natural game or take the cautious approach like ODIs?
And I think we should bowl first after if we win the toss.

I agree with all the posters about ROK, playing Raqibul is a losing mentality, you have given up. There is no "grafter" concept in T20. Slogging starts from Ball 1. Of course if you are afraid of losing wickets play 11 bowlers they will take us home not losing too many wickets anyways.

i think junaid should have been chosen to partner tamim
i remember in t20 world cup last year the match against india junaid smashed something like 44 runs from 23 balls if it wasn't for him bangladesh would have made 15 runs less off the total
I also remember the thought about winning during the 13th 14th over when bangladesh needed a run rate of like 7. The thought perished when roqibul came into bat

No, I dont trust you! T20 is also about selecting the right group of bowlers. Our strength is spin and NZ weakness is also spin. I dont see any harm going with ALL-SPIN attack in that batting paradise.
Jamie has a smooth HEAD but he is not a HEAD coach material.

Whoa!
All it's missing is Raqibul for Raj
This is gonna be like BD vs SA in the ICCWT20 a few years ago ... Run Rate of 15 in the 1st 5 overs.
Bangladesh have taken the Pakistan route in T20, it's good to see. Hopefully this is the squad that will bring glory in the WI!

our selector loves to give surprises, thats nothing new
they try to convert test player into 20/20 and 20/20 player into test
they did it before and they are doing it again
before we have seen javed omar belim, mehrab jr in 20/20
now rokibul and shahadat there, mashallah--they prepared for another disaster.
Imrul kayes is the highest run maker in 20/20 DPL, why dropping him? if not kayes, they should select junaed
razzaq should have been there instead of shahadat
line up should have been
tamim
kayes
aftab
ashraful
sakib
mahmudullah
naeem
mushfiq
razzaq
shafiul
najmul

i think i said that in previous line up thread, to make a disaster they should have rokibul and shahadat in 20/20--probably they listened to me and try to prove me wrong

I like this the Line up
Kayes can't hook or pull he's useless ala Nazimuddin
Only Problem I have is the Inclusion of Rock over Raj,
Maybe in the WI we can have Mashrafe and Farhad in for Rubel and Rock

Shafiul will not last more than 2 overs leaking 30+ runs. Same goes for Shahadat.
I sense a 13 ball 50 from McCullum...
This is mindless team selection.

I would take
Zunayed or Kapali instead of Rok and
Rajjak instead of Shahadat.
Apart from that it's a good team!

Razzak should play. He can hit too.
Imrul > Raqib in T20s and should open with Tamim, with Aftab and Ashraful coming in later on.
Oh well.
