Default Cricket practice methods [both ghetto and refined]

So this is not a TIGERS thread per se. But it's also not something to be forgotten about. At any rate list all the methods and instruments you use.

I myself started off practicing with putting a cricket ball in a sock, then hang it to a string hanging from ceiling and hit around with it. Anyone still use it?

In an Indian ad I saw someone doing the same but lots of strings attached...bar Natalie Portman.

So what practice methods you use?

Running a lot.

Our pacers have no endurance at all. They are usually out of breath after a couple of overs. Especially Shahadat and Mashrafe.

For pacers who have problems with line, use a single stump against a wall or something like that and then bowl at it as much as you can.

For fielding, love it. And never give up. You can reach much more area than you actually think.

...used to hit a socked-ball hung from the ceiling back when I was a kid. That has transformed to practicing against real bowlers and bowling machine every week. Would've done that every day - but just not practical here in Canada.

Need to get better physically - just not fit enough. There is NO alternate to physical fitness for athletes. NONE! But the damned new year's resolution just never seems to get fulfilled!

This is what happens when I come to campus to study, and then those calculus problems "get me".

Get someone, with a good throwing arm, let him hurl (chuck) balls from 10 yards out, simulates going up against genuine fast bowling. And to make it harder, use a stump to bat with, instead of a cricket bat.
