Quote:

Does America ban UK movies in their cinema halls on independence day? And India wasn't our enemy during our independence, rather a friend. So what's the point in ur post?

America and Bangladesh are not in the same boat, if you are not aware. The US-UK and Bangladesh-India relations are hardly alike.

India was a big friend during 1971, but they quickly turned into a big brother. We are not ungrateful, but we were unwilling to take the role of a small brother. Right now, India has put dams on all our rivers. Our market is flooded with Indian goods, but anytime a Bangladeshi good begins to get market in India, the Central government had the state governments put tariffs on them. This has happened with Lucas tires and RahimAfrooz batteries, among other items.

I am all for leaving in harmony, but the other side has to reciprocate. India did not, since 1972.

What should India do about this specific case? Should India release 'Bangla Cinema' in their movie theater's during their 'Bijoyer Mash'? Would that make it even.

What does taking the role of a 'big brother' 'small brother' has to do with this? This is all about money. Because these movies are making profit in BD they are releasing them here. This is primarily a business decision, not a political one.

MoC bhai, these are minorities. Don't stop dreaming to take your kid to home only for these people. After all, it depends on parents how they bring up their kids

Before pointing fingers at others we should look at ourselves first. How many of us have actually went to cinema hall to see Shakib khan, Rojina, Onju Ghosh dancing? I know I didnt. This is 2011 not 1911.This is the time for survival of the fittest. If Bangla cinema cant compete with Indian cinema then it should run out of business. Its not like general people have no access to watch Hindi movies.

Indian markets are flooded with Indian products. Did we ever wonder Why? Because there is tremendous demand of Indian products in Bangladesh. Indian Shari na porle amader meyeder mon kharap hoye jai, Indian peaj na thakle amader ranna theme jai, Indian TV serials na dekhle amader apu der adda jome na, Katrina aar Karina der na dekhle seleder mon vore na Rojina, Onju Ghosh marka nayika der diye.

We need to change ourselves first before pointing fingers at Hasina, Khaleda. Look at the Indians. They will use Indian products despite having the access of many alternatives. Thats why you see majority of cars that are on Indian streets are made by Tata.

wrong. tata is a bit player in the passenger car market which is dominated by maruti (fully owned by suzuki), hyundai etc.

Indian consumers are suckers for VFM, country of origin does not matter. which is why we have a major deficit wrt china.
