intellectual corruption or even moral corruption does not require one to be artistically corrupt.

the two best writers of the 20th century were louis ferdinand celine and knut hamsun. both were perceived nazi sympathisers. very few came close to celine in the european oeurve other than perhaps joyce.

Thanks for that bird's eye view. Perspective becomes an issue when we fail to relate things from different angles.

(I personally am a huge fan of his songs)

Saw them both live here a few years ago ... Sadly there voices have faded. But yes, all of these are classics and very much requested whenever I perform. Most fun to play on guitar is Dola. Coffe House is somewhat monotonous ...

I think the music from this song is stolen from an english song. Can anyone name the english song? or am I making it up.

I could swear (either this song) or another really famous song of Manna that was so copied.... yet we hold them to very high status--- I think sometimes they don't deserve.

The song begins with the tune of Auld Lang Syne. Thats about it.

Did you play the "Heyaana" part with the same minor of the major that you start with?
Kotodin bajaina .

Manna Dey was a lucky ba****d - Hemanta Mukhopadhyay actually got banned for plagiarism when he stole the tune (the flute at the beginning of the song) in Ei raat tomar amar.

One World - yes I do ... joss na??
Bhupen openly attributes songs like "bistirno dupar" to his guru Paule Robeson. And before gettin on Manna's case, all he did was steal the opening bit. Thakur shaheb stole the whole song for "purano din"
