Athar called him the "man of the moment" when introducing him... Thats probably why he thought he was MOM...

The celebrations outside the Stadium and all around Dhaka would make you think that we've won the world cup or something. Good to see people enjoying themselves. Hope nothing bad happened. Some of the "fans" stopped our car or tried to. One stopped the car, slapped on the hood, and then laid down on the hood for a few seconds. He then went past the drivers to the back and hit the back of the car as well.
I understand euphoria but that was too much. I saw some ladies in a rickshaw and on the streets getting harrassed all in the name of "fun".

Reaction in the Irish newspaper: http://www.irishtimes.com/
Allah Malik, I'm relieved big time as the Tigers won the match. I've open this match thread because of two reason.
Number One: my sister lives in Dublin with her family and they had embarrassing experience with their Irish friends their when BD lost to them in last two WC matches. Even though most of the Irish people doesn't bother their cricket team that much but why would they spare the chance of having fun out of win? Good to see the boys did manage to win a WC match against the Irish. The small Bangladeshi community at Dublin would have something to cheer for sure.
Number two reason is I just wanted to open a winning WC match thread... let this is be the end of the Kufa against the Irish.

Being a Tiger fan is continuing to be a very painful experience - even when they win, they look so poor!

What a game. Congratulation to Shakib and his tigers. However, among all these good feelings, I feel bad for Shafiul. Did anyone notice the post match interview? He thought he was the MoM. He must be feeling much embarrassed now. I am sure he will want to work on his English as well. Good game though. Imrul and Junaid's wickets were unlucky.

Either use glasses.....or use Avro key board
Most of us use Avro keyboard by the way, and its free! (it can be an alternative if you don't want to install Bangla fonts)

That case, we should go back to associate level so that we can win more often. I doubt we can now even beat associates on regular basis if we are not playing at home!
In this tourny, Ireland have shown they are now shoulder to shoulder to both Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, and prolly should be considered favorite to win against both teams on neutral conditions (not to mention how strong they may on their own home ground!). It's becoming hard to justify why we enjoy full member status while Ireland is still an associate member of ICC!

Oh come on, out batsmen were just being silly/lazy. And we still managed to defend a shambolic batting display convincingly.
A 27 run win, is quite significant in a low scoring game

the balance has been restored. have to watch the highlighights.
it was a good win. our team needed that. i think they have the confidence to go out and win more matches. its not 2007, its 2011. if we look at the patteren, we should beat england and windies

I guess Tamim's MOM is coz of the best batting performance in a bowlers game.
I say Ash gave the important breakthrough's before shafiul finished it off. See Ash didn't need the help of any others either, he had a C & B and a bowled. Way to go my man. He shld be the MOM for the celebrations he did which brought the team back into its mood.
cheers !

Well, they have been lazy/silly for way too long (except Tamim and Shakib), knowing scoring in 30s every now and then is good enough to survive in the team, that the coach is not interested grooming any new batsman to challenge their positions in the team.
Anyway, credit should be also given to Ireland for improvement they have shown.

Daimmnnn, this was some match!! Dunno but always felt we'd clinch it even when it looked we wouldn't make more than 180 or something but the O'Brien brothers nearly took the stuffing out but then in came Shafiul. and lol at him not being MOM.
