I have already posted the same table in the match thread and wished that:
Amader Jatra holo shuru..........
We want to start again with a renewed confidence, should never look back, should get rid off all the nightmares and should proceed only with new hope and aspiration.

Well come to our world. Congratulation for the first non-pessimist post. Oct 13 would be red letter day in Bangladesh cricket for two reasons
1. First time our standing in ODI is not double digit rank
2. First time SS posted a non-pessimist view.

Day's like these come very rarely for our countrymen, days that make you proud. Congratulation to Dr Yunus, we need more people like him in our country to make a positive change. Inshallah todays events will inspire people of all generations in our country at dark times like now.
Today we have shown the world that we can progress and no longer should be called a "bottom-less basket"

This comes as no surprise, in the LG ICC ranking, our bowlers show much better than our batsmen.
Rafique - 23
Mashrafee - 27
VS.
Aftab - 55
SN - 58

The whole ranking thing is no suprise for us, in fact, we have all been discussing about this for over a year now.

Well... BD's path of going higher in rank table in a casual and easy mode actually ends with this over-taking ZIM side. This is the last uplift that BD has got and will get in the rank table in a rather easy way. Any further progress will be quite a hard work for BD. Because for that... BD will have to start to beat stronger teams on a very regular basis. We might have to wait for another 5 years to go one step higher in rank from here.
But the good thing is.. that once we can do that (go one step higher putting one of the stronger test nations behind).. it will be again easier for us to improve positions further up. It's simple: Strength of no1 to no8 in rank table is considerably higher than strengths of no9 & 10.

Officially Bangladesh # 9 in ODI
So, finally Bangladesh is #9 in the ODI ranking. While thats a good news, I see to become #8, we have a long way to go...The differentials of 1900 points is just way too far for Bangladesh to acheive in the next 2 years.. Despite, becoming #9 from #11 was pretty quick after Watmore years... the question would become, can we do the same in Tests?

Aren't we #9 already in test in reality? Since Zim's are not playing... and on a borrowed life support (ranked higher because of the previous team results).

comparing to the cricket knowledge and ability to play cricket we don't deserve to be number 8 in ODI/ or even number 9 in test cricket. Our batsmen don't even know how to bat in a match with temperment(e.g. look at how pakistan is chasing the total of lanka). If we were them I think we would have lost 6 wkts by now. Example WI innings and also against lankans in CT. I think till we perform and learn, we should not brag about it.

Wake up SS!! How long Pakis are playing cricket in the test arena? How is their domestic structure compared to ours? How many Paki player plays the County Cricket? Compare to that first before you ask for results like the pakis day in day out or a run chase like them.
One can't sprint before they start to walk. We are still in the crawling stage. Lower your expectations and give it a time. We are progessing faster than most of the nations. That is why we are winning the odd ones. Or giving them a fight instead of regular innings defeats within four days.

I agree Tigers Eye. I should have take into consideration of Pak and Ind or even lanka cricket structure. So, why can't we do it? Why cant we start sending players offshore!!!

We are doing it bro. but it is trial and error and we need more sponsors participation. BCB marketing geniuses are not doing there job that is the bottom line. One can create full proof plans but if those plans have no means of executing the result is next to zero.
We had Dhaka league and that was all the cricket we had year long. Now the structure is more towards regional. All we need is a regional autonomy. Let them have U-19 teams and regular team. This would all take time and money. I believe we will get there some day.

Great point. So that no one sneaks up on us (AKA Zim).
