Since the BPL so far has been a total copy of IPL. I am writing to discuss having a BPL All Star game during the BPL season such that we bring something new to this type of competition and be different from IPL. Viewers will be asked to vote for players who they believe to be all stars and the game will take place mid season. The game itself will be non-competitive where the players will be instructed to entertain.
Spinners can bowl fast, and vice versa, boundaries will be shorter and to bring a crazy twist, we can have the game played with tape tennis ball. The game will have all the technology, umpires and rules but batsmen will carry the lighter tape tennis bat and bowlers will be allowed to tape up the ball however they want within certain limits. This may take the credibility from the game but lets discuss this; I feel it may be interesting for the viewers.
So what do you guys think about this? what are pros and cons? will it sell and be worth it?
I agree with you and that will make BPL uique. More revenus for BPL, teams, players and sponsorers. And surely, more cricket for us. It should be one week after the final of the BPL which used to happen long time ago in the World Cup Soccer.
The reason I mentioned mid season is because all players will be available, some players might stick around a week after the competition for a non-competitive game.
^^ I wasn't referring to the structure or composition of the teams. I meant that it should be fun but high quality. I like hearing what some of the players have to say during the game itself and microphones are a good addition if they aren't used too much.
ICL did something like this. They had four teams .ICL india, ICL pakistan,ICL Bangladesh and ICL world XI . A good idea it was. If BCB want to do the same they has to do all by themselves because franchises are out of this tournament. But it will be great if something like this happens
That too will happen, don't worry. Let them start BPL first and finish it successfully. If BCB can do that, other many plans will come into event management's (Game on) mind to grab more $$$$.
