Congrats to the Afghans.
A remarkable story amidst all that is happening in their country.

So, we have 5 teams from the South Asian zone now.
Great!!

Great performance by Afghanistan to play in the 20/20 World cup. Hoping that Holland beat Ireland to get the other spot.

BTW, I have been reading bits and pieces that quite a few teams are playing each before the WC, the latest being NZ and SL playing 3 matches in the US in early May. Anyhow, they are not in the same group as BD, but BD is in a group of death.
I wonder if BD will have a few matches with another team before the WC, or as usual, it will be the red team playing the green team, where they are playing against their own sides.

Well, we won't be playing any minnow in T20I WC this time, Bangladesh is placed in group A with Pakistan and Australia. Defeats are always humiliating, but at least this time we can say we lost to two excellent teams.

Afghanis won the final against Ireland by 8 wickets with 15 balls to spare, talk about dominance!

Congrats Afghanistan

Now BCB, get off your lazy butts and invite them for a tour.

our A team should play an Odi series with them. Two first class games also would not be a bad Idea

we'd get whitewashed in a 5 match T20 series...with our team of doom doom batsmen.

but i don't think the ODIs would be very close...not with the minnow bashers in our side, btw, would AFG even be considered minnows?

We should definitely invite them for an ODI series. It's our duty as a good neighbour and senior nation. They have ODI status as well so should not be a problem.

Karzai promised the Afghani squad a brand new Toyota Corolla each on their return to Afghanistan and a friend of Taj Malik (coach of the team) promised them laptops.

This means that they will be eliminated and not proceed. How come, they are placed with these 2 strong teams. Pakistan is the world champions, and I think the Aussies did not proceed. Are there only 3 in a group?

Really! I cant believe, when in the 20/20 against the Kiwis, BD could not make 80 runs. How will they stack up against Pakistan and Australia? Australia will beat Pakistan and BD.
Australia did beat pakistan in their last 20/20 recently, so these two teams know how to play each other. Bd has not been playing 20/20s, if they dont practce, how will they improve, tobesides, they cant seem to comprehend that it is 120 balls, and the Afghans know this.
