They are still at 11. But the points have gone up a bit. Few more such wins would push them up in the ranking.

How is that extra series against Zimbabwe coming? Does anyone know? Also, it is time to go after WI.

That series is not confirmed yet.

IMO, we should not play any extra series with Zimbabwe. We can't improve by playing with them.

You can beat the Windies. They are there for the taking.

Their captain Chanderpaul doesn't have a clue as captain, he couldn't find his rear-end with both hands.

Its not about the ranking. You dont judge teams by their ranking. Its about consistency.I think from here we can see bangladesh improving tremendously..Their targets have to be like this.
One Day Matches
9 to 10 wins a year
Test Matches 1 win a year at home against strong opposition

Two teams I think are up for taking in the order of the following ranks:

1) Pakistan
2) West Indies

Our next series is against Sri Lanka in September. It will be another tough tour playing on spinning pitches during hot and humid Sri Lankan summer. My expection is low for this one.

But in next February, we are playing in Asia cup, then in Mar-Apr, home series with Sri Lanka and Australia. I am hoping for few wins during this period.

as much as i would love to dream about future wins after this one, i have to say this..lets not expect too much...for a win like today's, we need the bowling, fielding AND batting to fire...how many times does THAT happen??

then again...its time to dream..hahahaha..

That's like saying "goat turd tastes better than cow turd"

Honestly Lara is a genius with the bat but the most self-involved captain of the current generation of Windies player. It is no surprise that whenever Lara has been offed that there has been a surge in Windies performance.

Chanderpaul is, with apologies to Bashar, the most defensive intl. captain out there. Bashar leads the weakest Test nation in the world that has no legacy of winning. What his chander's story?

BTW, putting on my pedantic hat, that last is on your sentence is redundant bourny

Thank you rob, they are there for the taking. We will have to beat them and then Chanderpaul would find what he is looking for up his rear-end.

we should now be ranked higher than ZIM and KEN...its a joke to rank KEN higher than us when they don't play. why don't they rank cameroon higher than us? cameroon hasn't played any ODIs in the last 5 years. maybe they can beat us and australia.

ICC should follow ranking system used in Tennis. If I am not wrong, in Tennis, points earned in a year do not roll over to the next year. Even if I am wrong about Tennis ranking, ICC should introduce something like this. If you look at players ranking, you will also find names in the top 100 who haven't played internaitonal cricket for a while. For an example, Hannan Sarkar is still in the list of top 100 batsmen. Now, when was the last time that he played test cricket? There should be rules such as, players and teams have to play a certain amount of games in a year in order to be considered for ranking.

Yes, the current one sucks. Even if BD beats England and Australia in the remaining 4 matches (thats 4 big wins), our rating will still be as low as 23, which is behind Kenya's 26, thus remain number 11.

That goes for one other captain I know of. He flat out refuses to take risks. Also does not know ABC of field placement.

I will give one guess.

I don't know if you guys had a chance to see this post by cricman -

http://www.banglacricket.com/alochon....php?tid=12593

It looks like Bangladesh is #9 in the ESPN-Star rating system ... right above ZIM and pretty close to WI and IND !!!

Thanks cricman for the good find!

OPS!!
Carefull mate.. don't get too high already!!

All the time we complain about each and every top nation that doesn't want to play with us becase we are weaker... and the moment we get a few wins u want to stop playing our closest opponent, the ZIMs?! A bit too arrogant ... dont you think?

With the senior players back and the inconsistant performance of BD.... ZIMs will still giv us a run for our money!!
