Default March Madness 2008

Well Florida the defending champs have lost all of their starters. This year they may not make it in the big dance.

UNC, Kansas, Tennessee, Duke, USC, UCLA, Texas, Memphis would want to be in the elite eight and final four. All have proven coaches. USC's Mayo will jump to NBA after his freshman season.

Arkansas will limp their way in. May be get knocked of in the first or second round. sigh!!

Anyone supporting any teams?

Right now I am one of the happiest people in America! UGA somehow found a way to win the SEC tournament to get an automatic bid into the NCAA tourney. We are the #14 seed in the West region and we are playing Xavier in the 1st round. They are a good team but I think we can knock them off with the way we are playing right now.

This year Pitt was suppose to be a very good team and I actually followed a bit. Injury just played a havoc in their schedule. Finally they are getting healthy and showing their real potential. They are on the Memphis side of the bracket. Sweet 16 should be a lock. The spartans don't impress me.

The BullDogs (Georgia) were a pest. I watched the first half of the SEC finals. 9 - 28 to start the game? Arkansas had no clue what had hit them. Yet at the end they were so close. Missing freethrows, grrr!!! The BullDogs have their work cutout. Xavier is one of the elite team seeded 3 (top 12 teams in the nation).

I have looked at the brackets: these are teams that I think could create an upset.

1) George Mason (yup Again). 1st round opponent Notre Dame (over-rated)

2) St. Joseph's. O'khalamma is going down.

3) Siena against Vandy.

4) Davidson over Zag.

5) Marquette over Kentucky.

6) St. Mary's over Miami.

7) Baylor over Purdue.

Kansas cruised.
Michgan State is gearing up for Pitts.

Indiana once as good as a team to be in the final four, will have a tough time against Arkansas. Go Hogs!!

I had Duke in my final four. They should have lost the game.
69-70, a free layup coast to coast? Com'on Belmont!!!
71-70, underneat the opponent basket and you throw away the ball? Com'on Belmont!!!

They were the better team but no experience. Crumbled under pressure. Good "D" Duke in the final seconds.

Mayo has played his last game. Did you see his dribble penetration step back nothing but the bottom of the net shot? Was Durant a better ball handler? Don't like the long-horns so didn't watch him last year. Beasley is 1-0.

Arkansas plays today.

Man I thought UGA was gonna pull off the win aginst Xavier. Xavier went to the free throw line WAY too much and the refs were against us the whole game. Duke is not a good team in the tournament lately and I bet that they will lose to West Virginia in the second round.

So all SEC team is out? Ah!! Tennessee survived Butler. Not shocking to say the least.

Boy, I don't know how a team can stop the Tarheels.

Duke, GeorgeTown gone.

Marquite lost grrr by one point to Stanford. grrrr!!!

Memphis was lucky against Mississippi State. Davidson gunning for everybody. Great team. Texas and UCLA needs to get knocked out next round, they have come far enough.

Well we got all #1s in the final four. In my bracket I had 3 #1s with UCLA losing. UNC all the way. Would be great Roy against his old coaching school. Memphis is rolling at the right time.

Mano against mano I think 3 teams are similar. UNC just has too much fire power. The only think Kansas has is that Row Williams left them for better and bigger pay. Roy already has a ring in three years. About to get another this year.

The madness will end this weekend.

What an embarrasing game for UNC. 26 down in the first 10 minutes of the game? When they were five down with 6 minutes left I thought it was over had they played a little defense and not jacking up threes. Very dissapointed. No game plan to play defense. I also thought the officiating was shaddy and one sided.

On the other hand, over-rated UCLA and Mr. Love got exposed by the faster, stronger, better Memphis team. The Tigers should take care of the Jay hawks now.
