An Ode on BARISAL Team


While wandering in my world of imagination
Naimul bhai requested to write a poem on Barisal thread
I thought it was a perfect time for my brain’s intermission
So why delay, just write it on a land of bread.

A big sigh of winds comes from the Bay of Bengal
Caresses the beautiful trees on the mesmerizing tiger land
Full of gold corns, zigzag rivers, canals and salt
A land of the braves was never for a marauding band.

Saints came, lived on this holy land and died in peace
People of this land are always with their best
Flourished at home and abroad with their bright face
In their hearts with a big crest.

Now in came the game of cricket in this land
People in BC and BD are roaring relentless
And an opportunity for the tigers and gold players of the foreign land
To bring for us another crest of success.

An Ode on CHITTAGONG Team


A mystic lavish green hilly land
With Saints, blue ocean and sand
Meets the starry sky at night
To give this dampen world a fight.

Sad and departing ships are honking
With hammers, steel workers are banging
For life, for good, for joy, for survival
To turn around the life like a swivel.

Here comes the jocund breeze from the ocean
And asks “Where are they who play so often?
With pride, glory and dejection
But roar when they are in action.”

Now it is a time for a serious cricket
They will get up from their lazy blanket
To give us the best
From the land of the best.

An Ode on DHAKA Team


Habibul Bashar and his gang with swords
Swaying with a force,
In the la la capitial of the land
With their drums and band.

The land of cultures, education, charisma, traffic jam and slums
Becomes so often the bloody battleground of the begums.
Now it is a time for cold and cricket
So everyone hunkers down with a blanket.

I still feel proud, I still feel happy
When I recollect those golden days in my memory.
It was a constant strife in Dhaka but I was happy and joyous
Now I have everything in the paradise, but life is vicious.

I will not be there on the cricket ground
But once I was there, now no trace can be found
Because the wave of time has buried
But in my memory, it will be cherished.

An Ode on KHULNA Team


The land that came to the world silently
To be one of the wonders astonishingly
With its timeless beauty and intangible valor
The wonderland of the world forever.

The rivers in the mesmerizing jungle
Like a naked slander and gorgeous lying single
This is the land of the royal tigers
When they roar their opponent falters.

Here lives the number one of this earth
Plays cricket with mirth
Here lives the Express
Who breaks the wall of the opponent’s fortress.

Now came the roaring BPL
We hope they will not fail
They will conquer with their might
And their indomitable will and fight.

An Ode on RAJSHAHI Team


Who says it is mighty and holy Ganges
That comes across and loses her forces
In the gorgeous and coy silky land
To fill it with cruelty and sand!

The land of history, architecture and fruits of thrills
Even are quivering Jehovah’s nostrils
She knows how to survive in cruelty and droughts
The red Sun rises after the morning frosts.

‘You are never lonely, you are our beloved
You come down to meet and get hugged
You are a land of mystic beauty and bravery
Nobody dares to make any mockery.’

Now the noisy BPL is drumming
Brave people in Rajshahi are humming
It is the experience of veteran Mushfiq and Pilot
To win, surely, they have a plot.

An Ode on SYLHET Team


I travelled different parts of Sylhet
Found so many homes were vacant
Now time for BPL cricket
And BC is without any enchant.

There was no thread by a Sylhety
It was me who opened one for empathy.
Now someone said the plane has just left London
Full of Bangla Anglo-saxon.

They are coming
In BC, they will be floundering.
But their time has left
To open another thread.

Still I hope they are coming
With their pounds, dollars and sterling.
They will give a fight
For their glory and pride.

Gari chalaia aslam minus 24 er modhey...rashtai betara korlaw bohu oshubidha.
