If consistency isn't taken into consideration, I think afridi is imo.

That's what happened to gayle, not afridi. Afridi is usually:

Afridi's no blind slogger. The man is a clean hitter. His 6s are mostly line drive hits. He is a big guy who times the ball well and has power. Yes I think Gayle's a better striker of the ball but take nothing away from Afridi's ability to strike the ball.

Well, like I said, if Pakistan Vs West Indies ever played at full strength, I would love to see the Afridi vs Gayle in both bowling and batting (theyre both all rounders...)

Only in a T20 match though bro. Afridi's batting in ODIs and Tests aren't comparable to Gayle's.

Yeah, like I said, I'm not really taking the consistency into account. Obviously Gayle is far more consistent, but on say both their days, afridi wins, hands down.

Afridi has lost it i guess. Probably works more on his bowling than batting. Made him a better bowler.

Well i guess gayle comes after gilchrist...we are saying it gayle because he is now on superb form...but when gilly was in form during his time he was devastating...and also in this old age he is hitting the longest sixes...so in my opinion gilly comes first...

I would say Rokibul will catch up to Gayle very soon. His performance today is just an indication of his hitting power. Next season, I want to see Rok and Gayle opening for RCB. That would be a deadly duo!

David Warner the switch hitter. But Warner is not as powerful.

Warner is a clean striker, where as Gayle is that + brute strength. Pathan is not dissimilar.

Before Rok there was Gavaskar. Yes, the bad as$ player who use to hold almost all records in Test cricket at the end of his playing days.
Check out his ball faced and run scored while chasing...334. Those days they played 60 overs one day matches.
