I have been saying even before the tournament Nasir and Anamul are garbage. Kotto je shunlam, oh they think it’s a good idea for Anamul to be in the team even failure after failure. Now you convinced?
Ariful is a big hitter, Mossadekk is quite reliable. Than these three.
Sabbir, Nasir, Anamul. Don’t have what it takes to take good responsibility under pressure and build an innings. These are showboating type players, like to expresss not dig deep.
Sabbir has been under lots of mental clutters before start of the series - a streak of bad performances, disciplinary issues, losing his contracts and what not. He should not have been in consideration for this series to begin with. I would have gone with Ariful in his place as an wildcard option.
However, both Anam and Nasir forced their way back into the team through their domestic performances. But, whenever you consider someone based on domestics, you need to have a contingency plan as there is a high likelihood domestic forms may not translate to international stage (even top performers from English counties often don't do well at internationals). That's where our management fell very short.
It was very clear from our first three ODIs is that Anam or Nasir has not overcome their technical shortcomings, and are sitting ducks even against Zimbabwe. That was the point they should have given back up players a try, ie in the last match. Yet senior players keep backing Anam-Nasir hoping somehow they will still manage to score some runs if they're given enough opportunities. Now, before the final they panicked and called up Imrul Kayes.
Ashraful explains how poor our domestic pitches are, so guys don't take into account if someone scoring hundred or doubles in those pitches. Now i'm more afraid of Kaedge's inclusion after hearing Ashrafuls view on our domestic pitches.
