Default KKR IPL Matches and News: With focus on our Shakib's performances

Here's a candid interview of Shakib on teams recent performances and his thoughts for the upcoming season..Go Shaks Go...All the best!!!

'The warmth here is amazing'

Q: The expectations at home have increased after the team's display in 2015. How do you deal with it?
SH: We know expectation will increase as we get better. It shouldn't be taken in a negative way. Instead, we should think along the lines that 'since they expect so much from us maybe we have that ability'. We take it positively.
Q: The rivalry with India is peaking, on and off the field. What's your take?
SH: I think it's more off the field. On the field, both teams know that the better team on the day will win.
Both teams try to play their best cricket and I don't feel they think beyond that. You could say that [the rivalry is peaking] because of the crowd or hype created by the media.
...
Q: What makes the Kolkata Knight Riders team special for you?
SH: The biggest thing is that it feels like home. After the national team this is the only other team where I have played so long.
We speak the same language, share similar cultures and weather. Even the flight is just under 30 minutes!
The players coming from other states in India take longer to reach Kolkata. It's only because of a fence that I have to play as an overseas player. If I go out people treat me like I'm one of them. The warmth you get here is amazing.
...
Q: Who are your closest buddies in the KKR team?
SH: Sunil Narine and Andre Russell. I am friends with all of them, but if you ask me to pick then I would say I interact maybe a little more with these two.

Well I think Shakib, Russel, Morkel and Narine will be the 4 overseas players. There is no Morris in the team.

And Narine is yet to join back with the team after his father's sad demise.

Hope Kuldeep Yadav gets some game. Easily the best spinner in KKR.

Dont speak if you have no knowledge. I am sure you hv never seen him bowl. He is top bowler and will pretty soon make his mark in team India. Only a pathetic team like KKR never include him in playing XI. I remember in last IPL even 41 year old Azhar Mehmood got a game but a talent like Kuldeep been benched whole season. I never support KKR because they never let a cricketer prosper.

Shakib is shoo-in in the KKR lineup. So is Russell. If Narine is the same bowler as before after remodeling his action, he'll be too.

Shakib is a very important element in the KKR team, on and off the field.

It seems he'll be batting higher up this season, so that'll be good for him.

Guarantee you this guy will magically find some form with both ball and bat for IPL, and still score maintain a average under 25 in the national squad, guy has contributed nothing with the bat in the WT20 and Asia cup other than that pathetic run a ball 50 vs Pakistan.

Please don`t bring up the World cup, his Lone heroics against Afghanistan was his only good knock, don`t forget how we cause Bangladesh to become 10/2 in the match vs England, He either throws his wicket away, gets run out, bowled or gets someone else run out

He doesn't have a good batting average in IPL either. His batting avg in T20I's is higher.

Dont be so harsh.. In WT20 Super 10s-

He bowled well vs Ind, 4 overs 23 runs 1 wkt and scored 22 runs of 15 balls with 2 sixs.

He scored 33 runs of 25 balls and took 3 wickets giving away 27 runs of 4 overs vs Australia.

He is not a super human, others also need to contribute in wins. The above two matches was for us to lose.

Sakib better play well.
Despite of all the world wide T20 exposure he has had I'm disappointed that he has not grown much as a T20 player.
good luck.

Everyone has a set role. Sometimes they can fulfill them, sometimes they can't. Not because of lack of trying. That role is set by the coach or captain. Not you.

Be a benchmarker? or play your natural game?

Would you like to be the coach? I think you need to apply for it to BCB/KKR.
