Default Your ODI Squad for SA

Send home Imrul, Liton, Taijul, Roy, Shafiul. Add Shakib, Shanto, Mash, AA, and Saifuddin.

Momin should be given another try in LOI.

My XI would be -

Momin
Mushfiq
Shakib
Riyad
Sabbir
Saifuddin
Mash
Rubel
Fizz

Bench: Taskin, AA, Shanto, Miraz

Very good 11, mine would be the same. Tempted to play Shanto but it will be too soon.

mominul should consider himself lucky that he is getting to play test matches. Haturi will persist with imrul or whatever the players is as long as his name isn't mominul. He won't get another shot in shorter formats as long as haturi is in the helm. No matter what the situation is.

Tamim
Soumya
Mominul
Mushfiq wk
Shakib
Sabbir
Ullah
Mash
Taskin
Rubel
Mustafizur

Rubel hasn't done much to justify a place, but I don't think Saifuddin is ready yet, maybe he is, but I'd like to think Rubel can return previous form

He's also an excellent death bowler

This actually looks solid. Would probably play Miraz ahead of Saifuddin but I guess it would depend on the conditions.

Love the fact that you have Momin in at 3. Always felt we should have someone technically competent in there that can anchor the innings like a Williamson or Root. 🖒

I totally agree about Mominul at #3. I like to see Nurul due to his keeping skills, but he's obviously won't get picked. This will be my XI – Tamim, Sarker, Mominul, Mushfiqur, Shakib, Mahmudullah, Shabbir, Mashrafe, Rubel, Taskin and Fizz.

I am not totally opposed to Sabbir at #3, as matches in SA often turns out to be high scoring. In such cases, Momin should be at #4, and rest of the batting order bumped up accordingly.

I wouldn't have Sabbir anywhere near 3 even if it is a high scoting pitch. Such experiment hasn't worked out and if anything, he will be more effective in the last 15-20 overs when our run rate tends to plateau a bit

Why all of a sudden mominul is being picked? We've been doing well in short formats the last couple of years and he's not been around the team, don't think he's done much to get recalled in ODIs...shanto surely ahead in short formats...even liton is probably ahead...

^^ Momin has done well in Dhaka premier league for the last two seasons. He was instrumental in his team Gazi Group winning championship this year.

Liton has done well in DPL as well. But his domestic form has not translated into international stage yet. IMO, he needs more exposure at A-team level. For Momin, that's not the case. An experienced player like him is much more likely to carry his domestic form into international stage.

because for his all experiment and dÊjà vus, hatui haven't been able to find any viable no. 3 for us in the last 4 years.Under him everyone got a prolonged run at no. 3 except mominul. And he is doing good consistently in the domestic arena for the last 2-3 years.

Even though it won't happen under haturi anyway.

With a crap performance like that, we have to save face in ODI, this is regardless of what happens in the remaining test match. This is the squad Bd has to field to win.

I will bench Shakib. What he needs is a long break from cricket to recharge his batteries. If physical rest is what he craved, then I would bench him every other game, but you cannot just ignore one format like that and claim it is benefiting you.

Tamim
Soumya
Sabbir
Mahmadullah
Mossadek (6 overs)
Nasir (8 overs)
Litton (wk)
Miraz (10 overs)
Mashrafe (c) (8 overs)
Mustafiz (10 overs)
Rubel (8 overs)

My ODI squad is Tamim, Sarker, Mominul, Mushfiqur, Shakib, Riyad, Shabbir, Mash, Rubel, Taskin and Fizz...Nurul, Nasir, Miraz and Imrul.

I chose Imrul because he's the best we've got when it comes to reserve openers, and he has done well in the format since 14 scoring a 100 against England. I chose Mominul because he does remind me of Williamson in some way. The #3 position has always baffled Bangladesh be at Tests or ODIs. The bowling attack depends really on the condition, but South Africa prefer to play pace over spin, so we may need to bring in Miraz or Nasir to partner Shakib.

Looks like selectors won't make too many changes - Nasir joining the team along with Mash and Shak http://www.bdcrictime.com/2017/10/na...y-for-sa-odis/

I guess it's safe to assume both Momin and Roy coming home. The third player to be replaced most likely will be one from Taijul, Liton, and Imrul.

Mash also said there won't be too many changes between the Test team and the ODI team http://www.prothom-alo.com/sports/ar...A6%AB%E0%A6%BF

I guess it makes sense that selectors rather field likes of Shanto and Saifuddin against Ireland A for now.

Per PA, Nasir might join the ODI team...

It's a good idea to have most of the test players play ODI since they already got some form of "match practice". Mominul should stay methinks... himself and Riyad are one of the few players who did ok in first test albeit Mominul got a decision in the 2nd innings that should have been not out if he chose to review.

I would use the same XI as Eshen except my #8 would be Mosaddek!

Shakib's shortcomings will be revealed in this tour, hopefully some fans can open their eyes and realise that playing 43 games against zimbabwe has bolstered his stats.

in that case, Miraz or Saifuddin is even Abul Hasan is the go to choice for me. Actually, what about Arafat Sunny? I reckon, Arafat Sunny is a good choice in South African conditions, his skidding deliveries should help.
