Default Is Miraz a genuine batsman?

The way Miraz is being treated recently as if he is a number 11 batsman. This is painful to see how a batsman with 40 avg in domestic and player of the series in ICC TOURNAMENT for equal contribution in both bowling and batting is in wrong track. He needs more opportunities. We don't want him just only as a bowler and if he by any chance fail as a bowler in future he ll be chopped. We must utilize and realize his batting ability and provide him ample opportunities to grow. Otherwise our dream to get another Shakib Al Hasan will never come true.

Riad and Mushy spoke high about his batting capability.

Be patient, he is still a kid, If Muralitharan can learn how to bat after all these years, so can he. He already has a head start(see U-19 World cup 2016). I wouldn't worry too much about it. He should be given more opportunities up the order though. He is not a slogger, he is more of a consolidator/accumulator.

Don't expect much from him with the bat in T20 or BPL, at least yet. Let him have fun, enjoy his time and learn his craft.

i think his batting is more suited for test or ODI as an innings builder. He used to bat at numer 4 or 5. under19 level, he used to play almost same role as mahmudullah riad. make runs with lower order.

give him some time, he is a true allrounder.

I think he should be given more backing for his batting but as far as being another shakib, well it is unlikely he'll reach his full potential as a bowler if he focuses on being an all rounder so he and management need to decide whether they want him more as a bowler or as an all rounder.

Another shakib would be amazing but what if we could have an atg spinner? Which would you pick? All rounder? Or spinner? And that's what needs to be sorted out.

But I agree he isn't being given enough support with his batting because even if he focused only on bowling he could still be a really good #7 or #8.

Shakib was a pretty ordinary spinner when he first started out, but look at where he is now! please have patience with Miraz. remember it took tendulkar about 70 odd tries to get hi first hundred.

Miraz wants to focus more on bowling at this point of time, but judging by his abilities with the bat he should come at #8 as bowling all-rounder for his domestic teams as well as NT. He is only 19 and has ample time to ample to establish him as bowling allrounder batting at #8.

tbh we don't need any more lower middle-order right-handed batsmen who bowl offspin. Our system is inundated with this kind of player. I say he just focus on becoming a world-class spinner who can get 15-20 runs with the lower order. Anything more is a bonus.

The kid just came on to the scene. He looks very promising as a spinner and could potentially move on to achieve great things but for now just give him some time and a number of international games before reaching a conclusion on his abilities. One good BPL game wont make him a good batsman and 3 bad BPL games will certainly not make him a bad bowler

I hope he comes good with the bat. Because he is the Miracle Man. There will come a time when someone has to save Bd with the bat. At that time, I hope the Miracle Man is there to deliver.

he has the technique, he has the skills... but right now he seems to be very low on confidence with the bat. His lack of nerve and confidence is probably showing in the nets too and thats why he is batting so low. He shouldnt be pressured to become someone like Shakib either. Shakib had to do both because there wasnt anyone else during his time. Shak had to contribute brilliantly in all departments to make his side competitive. For Miraz, if he can just focus on bowling and become great at it, it will be valued far more then him being a decent allrounder.

Miraz is by all means a genuine batsman. He scored crucial 50s in the last 3 matches of the U-19 World cup, under pressure. His technique isn't as good but can get better with coaching EASILY, unlike the issues with Anamul and Soumya. Also averaged 40 in FC before the test series

I believe he has the skill as well to score a lot of runs as a batsman, but he is low on confidence. I think what works in his favor is that anything from his bat will count as a bonus so that will ease the pressure off him when he bats. But what Rajshahi did yesterday was criminal. Everyone knows he, even at his worst, is a far better batsman than Abul and Sami.

He was a genuine batsmen who could bowl handy off spin before the england series.. That hasn't changed.. a few bad innings after the transition from under 19 level to int exposed some minor technical problems he has.. still very raw nothing concerning but he has a high ceiling and will come good.

I'd be disappointed if he can't average 30 with the bat in tests

If Riad says he was surprised then it definitely means something is wrong the team management.

Rajshahi needs to sort themselves out. They have Farhad Reza in the side. Middle order batsman like Sohan and Mini are opening the batting. What kind of a team doesn't have any specialist opener

Can I ask you guys a question? How many matches he played at #8 or below in the last couple of years ? Only three ! So it's not he has become a tail-ender. He is batting lower than #8 is certainly a case of mismanagement. I'm sure he will be considered as bowling allrounder in any format very soon.

I want Miraz to focus more on bowling at this point of time, so ideally I would like to see him bat at #8 for next couple of years. I don't think we will be able to produce more competent #8 batsman than him in near future. Once he established himself as bowling allrounder for our NT over the period of two years. then I would like him to focus on his batting in order to fulfill his dream to become a world class allrounder.

We shouldn't undermine his batting.

He has the skill to bat top 6 once he improves his batting
