no love for shuvo or saqlain sajib? i haven't seen alok bowling for ages but some decent leg spinners would be refreshing to the line-up but really the best spin combo would have to be shakib with either shuvo or saqlain i would think. keep the pacae trio together for now, but as i've said in another thread i'd keep sajidul, robin and subashis in mind in case the trio doesn't work out.

I will believe that Mash is going to play when he is actually on the plane to NZ. IMO, this will also have a psychological effect on him. He must be eager to start playing again, but the selectors should let him rest to be fit for the English tour. that will give him at least 3 more weekstime. He can practice in the nets or play in the NCL to get back his rythym. There is quite a bit of International cricket for the next six months.

Mashrafe should not risk anything. He is needed in BD for at least 4-5 years. No need to rush his comeback and ruin the coming 5odd years. Let him take his time and come back only when he is comfortable, he is a great asset, we have overused him in the past too. Hope this time he stays fit for a long time

no wonder they say... when danger strikes... it strikes from all ends....

i never knew it was this true... how much more will he have to suffer.... one person really shouldn't have to suffer so much all at once.... i feel horrible for him.... i seriously pray everything turns out alright.... i cannot bear to watch cricket without mashrafe... i just can't....

i would say its good in disguise that Mash could not go to NZ as he is not fully fit yet and any extra pressure on him now would have been very bad for us in future !

He should try batting practice in this interval. With his average batting our lower order will be powerfully full filled !!

I think in case of injury there should be no rush. May he heal well soon.

It is not as if he re aggravated his injury, he just has a Fever. Everyone gets fevers, he'll be fine. If he, the management, and the trainer think he's ready for the NZ tour, then I see absolutely no reason to why a Fever will keep him out. Michael Jordan scored 61 pts with a Fever...

Now if he himself feels that he is not ready for the tour, then thats a different story.

It's no biggie if he can't make it. Send Rasel to NZ who is in great form in the NCL. He can be just as effective as Mash in the ODIs and the T20. And Mash wasn't going to play the Test anyway. Meanwhile Mash needs to play a few NCL games and get in form for the two series' against England and the T20 World Cup where we will need him more.

u mean that famous NBA finals game in 98 where MJ was seen barfing on the bench during time outs and leaning on Pip's shoulders for support? i think he scored 37 or 38, not 61.

he hit 61 against the celtics way back in the 80s sometime. i think he was healthy then...

Many times fever is the result of a virus or bacteria entering the body. a high fever is one way your immune system fights back, but it leaves one drained and weak. I much prefer a cold to a fever.

may be they are sending junaed thinking of saving some money and sending some BAL minister or their relatives to monitor NZ condition

It is official. Mash out of the NZ series. Did not read about a replacement. I wonder why Rasel is not mentioned.

It doesn't seem like they will call up a replacement. It is a short tour after all.

Siddons was also hinting that Mash has not been training hard enough http://www.cricinfo.com/nzvbdesh2010...ry/446489.html

I hope he's ready for the ODIs against England...
