Laptop advice
Bhai,
I am going to buy a new Dell laptop in the next few days. When I go to customise the processor, I get these options:
- Intel(R) Core™ 2 Duo T6670 (2.2Ghz, 800Mhz, 2M L2 Cache)
- Intel(R) Core™ 2 Duo P8600(2.40GHz, 1066MHz, 3M L2 Cache, Dual Core)
- Intel(R) Core™ 2 Duo T9550(2.66GHz, 1066MHz, 6M L2 Cache, Dual Core)
- Intel(R) Core™ 2 Duo P8700(2.53GHz, 1066MHz, 3M L2 Cache, Dual Core)
To jump from P8700 to T9550 is $400 extra and all it has is double the cache size. I dont know much about cache and googling a bit tells higher it is, faster it goes.
So was wondering if its going to be any significant difference in the speed of the computer and worth the money? Thanks.

not worth the money.... doubling the L2 cache means nothing if all you are doing is office work (is that the case?)

Not worth $400 extra. Stick with P8700 or 8600. No point adding that much price for that little performance gain. Invest in more ram or a better harddriver (faster), and you'll see a bigger difference.

I also need a laap top.
Its getting cold and I need to start using my laap i,e comforter. I need a laap top i.e. comforter cover so that the comforter doesn't need to be washed.
What types should I buy? and Where can I get one?
Cant wait its getting cold.

@Fazal, had a good laugh.
Here is one good place to check day to day deals if you are scared of e-bay or any other bidding site.

Akib answered it for me. Did contemplate it but was looking for a less bulky laptop for 2 hours back and forth trip to uni. So settled with Vostro 1220. Alienwares are rip off big time and its stepping into the desktop territory.
