what does it take to be a successful captain?
there has been a lot of discussions in the other threads about bashar's captaincy and many of bd fans are calling him to be removed from captaincy. but, what does it take to be a successful captain?
in my point of view, to be a successful captain for a side, one should have:
1. good experience
2. leadership skills
3. lead by examples
4. enough qualities in the team
5. backup from the players
6. right decision making
7. good preparation on opposition.
bashar has good experience and leadership skills but he sometimes doesn't lead by example. for e.g. his fielding is poor and his batting performance is not consistent either. as a young team BD hasn't got enough fire power to go offensive as most of the fans would like to see. in regard to his field placement, he looks hapless when he set up field for one side and his bowlers bowl on the other side. some of his decisions making are also poor like which bowler to bowl when. and most importantly poor preparations on opposition have been exposed. it seems like BD do not have any game plan on individual players like how to get them out which we have seen when england opener were batting.
in my opinion if bashar gets all the above right he can become a good captain.
by changing a captain without looking things in depth will make no difference whether its mashud, mashree, rafique or whoever else.
what do you think?

I think bashar is ok. You can't get a perfect captain. He does make mistakes here and there, but at this point in time there is no one else to lead BD. He is the most deserving.

8. Takes gamble.
Bashar lacks some of these, but he is ok and doing lot better than other captains. I sure, in future we will get a better captain, however, he will have to do for now.

good point.
he doesn't like to gamble because he is afraid of losing badly than normally we do but it can not be worse than 170 runs or 10 wickets that we saw against england. can it be?
