Staying in Dhaka
I am planning to visit Dhaka next month with my wife and two kids. As, I do not live in the country, we obviously have no flats of our own. And, I do not want to stay at a hotel due to the obscene costs.
I am looking for furnished flats that I can rent for let's say 2 weeks ( AC, TV, cooker, fridge, washing machine ) . I have heard from family in Dhaka that you have to give 6 month's advance and what not.
So, if there are any NRB's like me over here, please advise if there are companies who cater to my needs. Thank you.

There are service apartments in Gulshan near the Australian Embassy. They charge you 15000 taka per night for those service apartments which is similar to staying in a hotel. So I am not sure if you will save any money by staying in service apartments. I am not sure if there are service apartments that are available for lower monthly rates. I only know of this one. Your better bet might be staying in hotels which i think are much cheaper. You are looking at anywhere from $50- $300 a night depending on what hotels you choose. You may also look at guest houses as those may be cheaper. I dont know any guest houses off the top of my head. If you have anyone who is a member of Gulshan Club/ Dhaka club/ Uttara club you can check with them to see what it would cost to stay in their Guest houses.

legit suggetion, i didn't even think ppl in dhaka would be putting up rooms there. airbnb was created for exact situation like this....
It's a good place to make money too if you have an apartment in a desirable place. Imagine an apartment in manhattan, you would be banking... however it's illegal in nyc but that doesn't stop anyone.

I was pleasantly surprised to see airbnb in Dhaka. Have had pleasant experiences in renting out places over forking out double to triple for hotel rooms in Bangkok, Paris, and Vienna. Cons: you need to make your own bed and no room service.

I found a flat thanks to http://dhakacity.olx.com.bd/houses-a...r-rent-cat-363
I also saw some madly expensive rents and the flats/apartments really looked worth the money ... I am impressed you can have such lavish properties in Dhaka
