Default Asia Cup 2018 Schedule

I am very excited about ASIA CUP 2018, as per asia cup schedule it will start from 13th of September and I am desperately waiting for it.

Which contest is the most interesting one?

1.Pakistan vs India.
2.Bangladesh vs India.
3.Bangladesh vs Pakistan.

I think all of these will be best contests of the tournament. Give your opinion also

I think TBA is a very strong team. Led by the fearless captain Parson Unknown, and the talismanic batsman Guy Incognito, they really have a chance to cause an upset on their day.

Welcome to BC. I think there are lots of cricket to be played before we can say BD, Ind, Pak, SL, Afg qualified for the second round.

Strange thing happens in Cricket. 2007 WC ring a bell? Lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Don't think we can get past Australia unless we win every game in the Asia Cup. We aren't the type of side that can whitewash an opponent, we have to lose at least one game we should win (happened vs England 2016, in NZ, and just last month vs WI).

IF (no jinxing) BD advances to the round of 4, they will have to play back to back games in 2 straight days, and very likely will have to travel from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. No one from BCB has been complaining, unlike BCCI. But this schedule really is poorly planned.

BD vs everyone is going to be an exciting contest. We always play well vs India, and now against PAK as well. SL game will be heated, and all the trolls will come out in full force with their support for AFG.

Quite a few posters might end up getting banned hehe.

This is going to be a very heated contest, given we dont have good relations with almost every neighbor. If we have some shame, we really, really need to pick up our game and beat SL and Afg comprehensively. And then hope.. we beat one of India and Pakistan + SL/Afg again.

We have to do well given how much in line. Playing finals should be our target at the very least.

And finally, I hope Rhodes does some magic.

Afghanistan spinners will cause a big headache for us. We did not read them at all last time.

If we don't become runners up in this, everybody should stop talking about the world cup.

The approach that the Bangladeshi batsmen took against Rashid was definitely wrong. They should have realized that Rashid bowls mostly googlies and very few genuine leg breaks. I remember the last ball that Ariful faced. He knew Rashid would bowl a googly and he connected well but it was really a brilliant effort by the fielder to prevent the boundary.

I hope this time Bangladesh prepare well ahead of the Asia Cup.

Problem with AFG is their batters have only one gear, while current Srilanka batsmen have no gears . Both teams have quality spinners, batting first and posting good total should be the strategy. Spin is not so effective in those pitches while our pace department is comparatively strong in ODI.

50 over; it alternates every two years so that it can become a preparation before the WC T20/ODI.

One of the things that most people in other forums and even some of our own fans seem to be forgetting and jumping aboard the Bangladesh mocking ship and believing that we will be thrashed by Afghanistan based on what happened in the T-20 series, are forgetting one crucial fact, which is,that during that tournament our boys had no clue how to play Rashid and co. , And let their names get to them and adding to the fact that we lacked a proper coaching team we had almost no game plan to face them either. And as you could see from the last dead rubber from that very same bilateral tournament, we ran the Afghans really close. It took our batters 2 matches to figure out at least some plan to play out Rashid and the other Afghan spinners once the intimidating factor was gone and they had played them themselves instead of watching some IPL games or sitting with a computer analyst.

This time it's not gonna be the same coz we have experienced playing against this bowling attack, have a proper coaching unit who have had time during the tour of West Indies to take a better look at their own charges, and not to mention it's not a T-20 but an ODI. I really would love to see the Afghans getting thrashed properly and clinically. But then uncertainty is one of the biggest traits of the game.

But going by logic Afghanistan shouldn't be much of a challenge, even India and SL shouldn't given how many times in the recent times we have played against these two teams. We will have trouble facing Pakistan though coz it's a completely changed and new-look team filled with confident youngsters. On that note, it's about time our younguns started firing for us to go far in this Asia cup

^ Haha, solid post bruh!

Only thing is, we have to close these games! Can we do that? We are bad closers. We play to the level of the opposition. India plays at a certain level regardless of who's playing.

If we have the mentality of scoring 300 in ODI every game, and 160 in T20 every game, regardless of opposition and pitch, then yes, that would take us to the next level. Till that happens, we won't lift any silverware anytime soon.

We shouldn't be overwhelmed by the impossible odds rather take it one stage at a time. It will be exceedingly difficult tournament to even get in the final.
