Bangladesh since Asia cup
As you can see the list is not that long. Back in the days when we used to get trashed by Kenya, yet ended up playing 20 odd ODI's per year. So, ICC are you watching? 10 wins out of 18, 1 NR, and lost only 7. Pathetic from ICC and BCB!!!
What's coming in 2014 (according to FTP)?
-Tri series between SL/PAk and us in Febuary.... approx 4 ODI
-India at home in May for 3 ODI
-Away to WI in July for 3 ODI
-Tri serioes between SL/Zim and us in October, approx 4 ODI
Again not many matches: approx. 14 ODI's only! ICC won't do anything, so its all up to us. BCB should work on to get more matches with other cricket board. My proposal would be Play additional 3/5 match ODI series vs SL top the tri series in February that involves Pak. Also, play 3/5 ODI vs Zim top the Tri series in a years time. That would give us minimum of 20 ODI's, which is not too bad given that we only played 18 ODI's in last 18 months. And work on to Visit England/Aus/SA for a 3/5 match ODI series in preparation to WC 2015.
PS: We are playing 6 Test matches so can't complain there.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++
Here is the top 10 run score since the Asia cup. Every single batsman other than Mominul and Gazi(although he is a bowler) avg 30+ with SR of 70+ in last 18 months that clearly shows the progress we made. Mominul is yet to get a in 12 ODI, so he better start to perform or see him getting drop from ODI. Surprisingly, Riyad had done well so i see Mominul getting the chop when Shak is back.
Cons:
-Shak only playing 7 ODI in last 18 months %$%"
-Only 2 100's; Bijoy and Tamim
-Tamim conversion rate is so bloody poor; failed to get to from six times in 15 innings so need to work hard on that, BUT WILL HE?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Bowling figures since the asia cup:
-Lalla leading with decent avg and econ rate even though he did very poor in this series. So think again before dropping him. Gazi doing his business as usual
-Nasir only bowled 12 overs, 10 of them bowled in the last ODI. Seriously Mushy??

Can't think of an ODI XI without Lalla, not yet.

+1
But but he should NOT even be close to 100 yards of the TEST team!

I think in the Future we will have better and complete SLA's e.g. Taijul and Naeem Islam Jr after Abdur Razzak retires in another 3-5 years time. It's a easy decision at the moment to Pick Razzak for the shorter formats, Gazi will also be around for long time. I am pretty hopefuly for our spin department. However we need to find some good pacers.. e.g. SJ was talking about Abul Hasan/Taskin and others who he is keeping an eye on!

Very good analysis, Nadim! Tamimma, when will you learn to convert your to grrr!!! It's been 5 odd years now that you're playing! Ar koto?!!!
And to ICC, shame on you! Giving us only 14 ODI's for next year shows that you're being partial and still considering us to be " a weak side"

Saw a similar kind of thread on Pakpassion too. The progress of Bangladesh team is quite remarkable specially when you see most of the wins came in the absence of Star players
Bangladesh played 15 matches, won 9 and lost 5 since January 2012 with a W/L ratio of 1.80
All those wins came against Top 8 teams

Surprisingly, for all Mullah hate, he remains our fourth highest run scorer (with a strike rate higher than Tamim's I might add) as well as our third highest wicket taker. I did not expect that. May be he has a point about not wanting to bat up the order, since he scored so much runs down the order.

Worst economy is by Abul (only 3 matches), followed by Shahadat (no surprise), and Rubel.

Here it is. The OP has also stated how our batsmen performed in those matches. A good thread.
