Bangladesh & T20

Okay with all the commotion and drama everyday here in BC and everywhere else when either Shakib or Tamim are not picked in the IPL (or any other tournament for that matter), I want to hear your opinion about it.

T20 is here to stay, if we like it or not, and are our players aren't as recognized by the world when it comes to the format. Most of the premier T20 players who have already proven their mettle might have already played tons of domestic/international T20's unlike our players.

We just don't play enough T20. But BPL is here to stay. So I will give 2-3 years, and our players will be recognized by then.

But how do we break the tag? We have to perform consistently in a good platform. BPL is thus the answer.

OP said that most of the players proved their mettle in their own domestic league. BPL is our platform and we need few seasons of it to show it.

We aren't even ranked in the T20 format by the ICC!

Having BPL will certainly help but we can't just depend on a franchise league. We need a domestic T20 league as well. The BPL can be for the best of the Bangladeshi players competing with other foreign players but we need a domestic T20 league so other local players have a chance to play and prove they can play in the BPL. It'll increase the competition and pool of players. We also need a NCL OD league but unfortunately BCB seems to be too focused on just the DPL. Franchise leagues are always going to be needed but domestics are key in unearthing new and fresh talent.

Because we did not play enough international T-20 since the ranking system has started.

We're in one of the toughest groups. Pakistan specifically will be hard to beat.

But again, all the overseas players that do get signed in these T20 tournaments have proven more on the domestic level than on the international stage, if you happen to notice.

Hec, even Shakib and Tamim after their Asia Cup show are having tough time getting into a main XI !!

Only thing that will and can change the "Bangladeshi Tag" is more success on the international level.

I agree with Rabz bhai....only more International success can lead us to more exposures....Insha Allah there will be a day soon....when the IPL organisers will be behind our players, but they will be too busy with national level duties....just like Australia/England

our bowling fielding are pretty good in T20s but our batsmen are not good in T20s, only Ash is a reliable one,Junaid is good too.
Mushy played a good hand in BPL and also his inn that won us the recent t20 vs WI.
Sak,TI and Nasir need to find a way out to score runs in this form.

We should be able to beat NZ to be honest. Not saying it'll be easy but let's not forget that their batsmen are not good in subcontinental conditions as we saw when they experienced the "banglawash." Also we're seeing the New Zealanders struggling in the IPL now. So we should be good against them. Pakistan, on the other hand, will definitely be tough.
