Mashrafee Injured !!
Mashrafe scare for Bangladesh
Sports Reporter, The Daily Star
Bangladesh are set for a blow before the start of the demanding series against India as pace spearhead Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been complaining of back pain since yesterday.
Team management sources said that the leading paceman Mashrafe, who sunk India in the World Cup with a four-wicket burst, is unlikely to play the first ODI on May 10 at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
The braveheart cricketer looked uncomfortable in the middle after bowling for twenty minutes during Tigers' practice session under immense heat in Mirpur yesterday and immediately complained of back pain, an injury which creeps up on him from time to time.
The Narail quick, who has both his knees operated on, left the field with his hands on his back and a concerned look on his face.
"Right at the moment his condition is not good because he can't stand easily," a team sources said.
The team-management, which was supposed to pick the final eleven for the first one-dayer yesterday, however delayed the selection following Mashrafe's injury complaint. The selection panel headed by Faruque Ahmed is expected to get the final report from team physio Paul Close today.
If the 23-year-old fails to get the green signal from the physio then the selectors might turn to right-arm paceman Shahadat Hossain to share the new ball with Syed Rasel.
However, the encouraging factor is that the paceman had earlier complained several times of the back pain but dramatically recovered the following day only to show his true character as born fighter.
"In West Indies he complained of back pain several times but ultimately completed the tournament without any interruption. That's why we are hopeful that something like that can happen also this time," said a cricketer without disclosing his identity.

That is the worst possible news at the moment.
Not looking good at all.
Losing Mashrafe will cost us the series.

this back pain is bothering far too frequently. Bangladesh have a very busy international schedule next year. Having a surgery (if that's a proper treatment to this injury) and making a full recovery before that busy stretch should be an option worth pondering. Feels bad for Mash...

shahadat has great potential, he is the fastest pacer, its just his line that he needs to work on.

And a little bit on his ghilu...he's stubborn about his bouncers, and won't give up easily before he can hit his target.

I hope the injury is not that serious.
Could not find the news in any other places including NewAge, Ittefaq and other uploaded dailies. BDNews also has nothing on it.

Damn. Mashrafee is probably the most important player in Bangladesh line up. You can't replace this guy! Opening the bowling and hitting at the end. Absence of Mashrafee for Bangladeshi team is equivalent of taking out Murali, Vass and Malinga from the Srilankan team.

As an Indian Supporter, i really really don't want anyone from from the trio of Ashraful, Mashrafee and Tamim to stay out injured or for any other reason.
Hope this news is not true and if it is, hope Mashrafe recovers in time.

If masri cannot play in one match then I am OK, I don't want him to get seriously injured. I hope the team management will be careful with him... He is our biggest asset.

Why don't we have someone who can replace Mashrafe?? Out of millions of people we dont have anyone like MASH or batter ?? This is upsetting. we are relying on one man and his service. we have so many leages and Teams and we cannot find or produce a player like mashrafee !
And i've seen BD loses all the strenght and hopes if MASHRAFEE is not playing :S this is very bad sign of self belief.
