Vikram Solanki raced to a quickfire half-century as England enjoyed a flying start in today's warm-up match against a BCB Development XI.

The Worcestershire batsman raced past 50 off only 54 balls to guide the tourists to 116 without loss after being put into bat in the 50 overs game.

Solanki hit nine fours and reached his half-century with a six over long-off as England took advantage off the poorest opposition they have faced since their arrival in Bangladesh.

Middlesex opener Andrew Strauss, who was making his senior England debut, was equally comfortable at the crease and had reached an unbeaten 44 when the fielding restrictions were lifted at the end of 15 overs.

Manjurul (Rana) is bowling well - this could only mean that Rafique will have a good game. Hopefully, Kapali and Rajin's slow bwling will also make it an interesting one.

I foresee a defeat by a margin of approximately 200 runs.

We bowled them out alright, but the bowling was nevertheless pathetic as hell. Talha Jubair...hmmm...3 wickets...not bad, one would think...but his 9 overs went for 67 runs. All the other bowlers were equally, if not more, pathetic. Vikram Solanki, Flintoff and Strauss made a mockery of our bowling.

I find it hard to believe that the standard of our national league can be this poor.
