Calling Dhaka cell

Anyone know how I can call Grameen cell in Dhaka, unlimited minutes, for a fee...or very cheap per minute rates? I need to call my gf back home from the states a lot and it's expensive! Thanks a lot

I tend to use the JMD Asia Phonecard that I buy from nivatel.com. A $10 or $20 card serves me well for several months.

There are plenty of phone cards that you can use to call cheap (the store where you buy the cards can tell you which one is currently the best) but if you ask me they gonna add up. I am sure you will be talking to your girl friend for hours per day. (6 hrs/day isn't all that impossible) If you get 2-3 hours per 5 dollars card, that's $300 per month that's a lot.

Vonage has international plan (Asia plan/World plan) that you can use to make unlimited calls to BD. But the prob is, it is limited to land lines only I think. So it's better to get her a land line and then talk. Worth the investment if you ask me.. but maybe not wise if this is a lukaluki prem...

They charge 4.49 cents per minute. You can talk for around 110 mins for 5 dollars.

Actually, Miju, that's quite accurate . I use the phone to simply touch base once a week; preferring e-mail or letters for more detailed discussions.

I am currently working at Vonage to restructure their calling plan design, maybe should put in something special for Bangladesh lol
