There can only be one answer:
The team effort to beat England in the WC.
The win came after the WI 58 all out> The country demanded a response. It was a 'must win' game against a top side. The players were demoralised after the WI defeat.
Despite this we found a way to inspire them. The fans were awesome and sent messages of good will and support. We showed inspirational videos and posted banners in the changing rooms. And the final dramatic twisting and turning of the match leading to Shafiul and Riyad seeing us home from an 'impossible' position that no one could believe.
For me and Julien the extra spice of defeating our own countrymen!

Completely agreed with Ian. What fantastic win it was! Lovely memory!

I think Ian hit the spot right there.... have to agree with him..... though I reckon Bowling out the Windies for 61 comes a close second.... but I have to say.... after our 4-0 win over the kiwis last year, this should have been a better year, but ah well.... another year beckons.... lets see what it brings
After losing 4/5 wickets in quick succession it felt like the match had slipped away. Then walked in Shafiul announcing his entrance in grand style with a couple of fours and a mighty 6 through long on against Swan. But the best moment for me was Shafiul's strong punch through mid off region in stand and deliver mode against Anderson which the poor bloke could only helplessly watch as the ball reached the boundary and thus getting our target within a manageable single digits.
5.6
Roach to Imrul Kayes, SIX, pulled away! He was ready for the short ball this time, and he's hit it in the air towards midwicket and its gone over the boundary. BANG! A shot worthy of a Shastrism
Interesting to see how often Shafiul features in the posts of this thread despite his absence from the current team! (Due to a combination of poor health and poor form) Does this mean that the selectors have short memories or does this mean that we've finally matured to the stage where we don't select people for a few glorious performances but rather for relative consistency? (Except for Ash)
To BC janissaries (and with due all respect to Coach Ian and with utmost humility...):
Stop agreeing or disagreeing as if there is a shothik uttor. It asked for "YOUR" play of the year. Yes, in retrospect Shafiul's one was defo. a play of the year, but I guess I chose Mushy's one because it was still relatively fresh.
And since neutral-da opened new vista, this year has been really eventful. Are you frikkin kidding me? Tendu 200! Sehwag 219! Malinga double! It's a golden year in cricket in my humble opinion and respectfully to everyone.
2. Tamim's catch of O'brian (Ire) in the WC which was the turning point of that match, otherwise we would have lost the game.
3. Mushy's winning shot (six) against WI in T20 match
4. Shakib's 144
5. Nasir Hossain to Samuels, OUT, Nasir pulls off a true-blue WWE style ripper! He is so stunned, he doesn't do the DX chop routine he normally does when he has a wicket. Tossed up on the stumps, and for the second time in two innings, Samuels drives inside out uppishly. He timed the shot well, and the ball was buzzing away past Nasir to his left, but he leaped to his left and plucked it when fully in the air, shooting diagonally up from the ground.
6. Nasir Hossain to Powell, OUT, what a stunner. Powell's gone to a piece of Muralitharanesque mystery from Hossain. Tossed up, curving in, pitched on leg stump, gripped, spun and beat the outside edge to hit off stump and leave the batsman completely befuddled. All similarities with Murali ended there, as Hossain celebrates with an ugly WWE gesture - the DX chop to be spedcific. The crowd seems to like it, though.
7. Last but not the least, Ashraful's wicket celebration (dance) in match against Ireland in WC.
England win was so EPIC because I was almost 90% sure that it's the end - but Shafiul produced a beauty of a slogfest out of nowhere to snatch the game from Poms.
Then the match vs Ireland too where a low score was defended.
As a match, the win versus England. As Ian pointed out, it was coming back from the darkest day in our cricketing history to playing against one of the top teams in the world, and the way we fought till the end was phenomenal. As an unbiased supporter, that was one of the best ODIs ever!
And unless you are a die hard follower of Bangladeshi cricket, and followed the build up and the disappointment prior to the game, the impact of the game can barely be comprehended.
And as an individual performance, i would pick Mushy's match winning knock vs. West Indies. It is extremely rare that a Bangladeshi flares well under pressure and single handedly wins a game.
And as a singular play, it will probably be our last scoring shot of the year! Nazmul, a no.10 smacking world's number one bowler right out of the park, priceless.
