Congrats Golden Boy. Many of us laughed when Siddons called Mushy the Golden boy and Shakib the prime spinner of BD.

I want him at one/two down in next test. He is far better than those two stupids.

He cannot get taller. A guy reaches his height at 16 yrs of age, but Mushy can strengthen his physique. BD players are among the smallest and shortest in international cricket, but they cannot change their DNA.

mushy to bat at #4 could be good, i think batting at #3 would be a big workload if he was also the gloveman. if he became a specialist bat then #3 might be an option otherwise burnout may occur. good century though, really didn't think he could make it.

Mushy is my little golden boy. IMO, the national team is incomplete without him, he brings energy and passion to the game, because he is always pumping up the players and keeping them on their toes when they are fielding. Inshallah, his wicketkeeping should improve. I feel that BCB should hire a good coach for him.

On behalf of ministry for youth and sports, minister Ahad Ali Sarker handed over Tk 50,000 each to all the players for their performance in the West Indies and Zimbabwe. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahman was also given an additional Tk one lakh for scoring a century against India in the first Test in Chittagong.

BCB too gave Tk one lakh to Mushfiqur for his century.

very good for the players, they will try to perform even most out of them, sometime needs some incentives..

ODIs != Tests

Besides, his batting position in ODIs is further away from optimality than his lower order position in Tests.

ODI's and TEst's aren't the same. Different mindset. Different shots. Different bowling. Different field set up...

Seems little Mushy is becoming fairly wealthy now, but does'nt come from a fairly affluent family?

As I told earlier a couple of times, Mushy lacks technique of playing fast moving balls. Specially sharp in-swinging deliveries are his big weakness. This is because of his high cross back lift. He lifts the bat high towards gully. When the ball is a fast incoming fuller delivery the fails to bring the bat down fast enough.

That's why he is out of form in the current England tour. Hope JS would be able to fix this problem.

Mushy should give up the gloves to Jaharul and concentrate on being a batsman, though, I must mention that he did keep very well in this test match, he is still too short to be a wicket keeper and I am pretty sure that BCB will train Jaharul to be a wicket keeper batsman, they need to have a backup wicket keeper for international matches.

If his keeping is getting better, just leave it as it is..his keeping is more important.its not hard to decrease his backlift, why doesn't he do that? Guess with 130kph bowling at the nets he doesn't feel it necessary in practice...

his keeping and batting are both important but he is much better batsman than a keeper. so I think he should put aside his keeping and take on batting only.

His problem is not really decreasing the back lift. His back-lift somewhat points towards gully and when it is coming down to meet the ball, it is not coming down straight enough, so its like playing it cross-bated. May be some minor adjustment, not a big issue. Other than that, his technique is good.

If Mushy is keeping, then he has to perform both with bat and ball. For the sake of working on keeping, he can't compromise with batting. In that case, he should give up keeping for some time while he is working on it and try to play as a batsman. As long as he is keeping, need to perform both.

Mushy has failed in THREE CONSECUTIVE test innings!! Its high time we should drop him and bring in Jahnagir putuputu[the current U13 wicket keeper]

The only thing I should say is that he does not deserve to play in the 2nd test. He cannot play in bouncy and fast and swingable pitches

mushy will return with a big score soon. I've no doubt on his batting. And his keeping looks improved too.

I have absolutely no doubt that JS would solve this problem. This is a minor technical error. He is a good batsman with strong mind set. It can be fixed.
