In fact, they're doing pretty well so far, 172/3 after 45 overs.
Most credit goes to Hinds, for his excellent century.
WW Hinds 100 in 207 minutes off 133 balls, 16x4, 1x6

West Indies are playing great. Imagine them if LAra and everyone else was there. This showing at least shows WI has some talent that can carry them after current players like Lara retires.
So far they are at 299 for 3 with just over 20 overs to go in the day.
Hinds is at 175 not out. Andre Nel has all 3 wickets.
to Hinds who is currently on his highest test score.....
SA are really toiling out there.

Hinds is unstoppable: 174 runs on 205 balls (30x4!), his partnership with Chanderpaul 193 not out.
Great show of pride by the Windies, despite the absence of Lara.

I am still waiting for that great West Indies revival, in fact I long for it. They are the reason why I became a cricket fan.

Until yesterday I was rooting for an abysmal performance from windies so that WICB gets punished for omitting Lara and Co. But right , with this performance, I am all for windies again.
Go hinds and chanderpaul....rock on!

isn't this the 'weak' West Indies that we were dreaming to get a win against only a few days back?!

Yeah...and inspite of this performance on the first day against SA, I still feel they'll struggle against us at home provided the pitches are tailor made for our spin trio...cheers....

Have u guys noticed the change Chanderpaul has made in his already weird stances? …Folks..u have to see it to believe it…..He is basically standing straight with toes pointing towards the bowler and the umpire at the point of facing the delivery !!!! …..And there is more..!...The face of the bat is completely pointing towards square leg..!!!...I haven’t really been following the Windies perform of late…..So not quite sure when exactly he made such adjustments….But at the end of the day the guy is batting on 102*….so no complains…Cheers

Are you watching the game?
What about the southafrican bowlers? I suppose they don't believe what is happening and feel hopelessly nervous!

And that's it, Chanderpaul scores 203 and declares.
Two double century in a single innings!
I wonder if that has ever happened before.

West Indies played brilliantly...
to Hinds and Chaunderpaul for their double century.
At stumps of day 2 WI are 543 for 5 and SA are 2 for 0.
Bowling O M R W
Ntini 23 5 98 0 (4nb)
Nel 33 8 93 3 (1nb)
Langeveldt 27 5 65 1 (2nb, 1w)
Hall 16 4 53 0 (1nb)
Kallis 14 3 70 0 (1w)
Boje 29.1 2 106 1
Smith 10 0 50 0
That is SA's bowling stats. Boje really got hit a lot. So did smith.
