Looks like Jamat Shibir has already taken over BNP fb pages. My BNP supporter friends are already ashamed to see this post, so am I. I hope true BNP supporters should be more vocal against Jamat Shibir activities.

there is no BNP, its only jamat now
but i have to ask how authentic is that page? since it has only 6500+ like, surely verified jcd page would have had more likes

I am worried about the amount of people that rely on Facebook for their daily source of news

True. But you can't deny the power of facebook now-a-days. People don't read newspaper, they only read the news shared on facebook. Facebook is the only source of news (rumors) now-a-days. People don't even look at the sources. All those Jamat Shibir supported news, fb pages showed us even well educated people easily fell for those things. Taking pictures from different part of the world and saying this is happening in Bangladesh has really worked for many others. That's why it is very important to verify fb pages which claim to be associated with celeb, party, org etc to avoid unnecessary embarrassment.

If a free and fair election was held next week, devoid of any external influences, with all parties participating, who would win? I don't know why any newspapers/tv channels don't conduct any pre-election national polls.

You guys remember this one incident from BD maybe 3-6 months ago. This 8 year old kid asked his step father for a packet of chips. The step father got mad and cut off both of his arms. I think someone posted a link to that article in BC, I searched but didn't find it. I just found out from my cousin, this kid is currently in America. He is at a hospital in Pennsylvania and getting treatment for his condition. Some lady in BD took the initiative and started a fund for his treatment. My dulabhai's sister got in touch with that lady in BD, and a hospital in Pennsylvania and they worked something out. They were able to perform surgery and replace his arms. A Bangladeshi newspaper from NY called "Thikana" did an article on this kid. I'll get the article from my cousin and post it next week.

^^^ I don't know what to say!
We cut off hands for asking a bag of chips...
We kill people to go to power...
We kill people to remain in power...

How much are the PS3 games in BD, for relatively new releases such as The Last of Us, Assassin's Creed, FIFA type of games? Are they original copy or pirated? Thanks

That's a very good question. Satkhira, specifically Kalaroa, Debhata, Kaliganj and Asashuni upazilas, are definitely a part of said zone - in fact, the State apparatus seems to have collapsed completely there according to both news reports and the accounts of observers who have visited the area recently and the salvos of joint forces seem largely ineffective. Other places like certain areas of Noakhali and Jessore, have not reached such a level but has regular Jamaat-Shibir violence.
