Compton has been a great find. He's another Trott type player. Extremely boring to watch but is very effective and consistent.

Compton has the same body shape as pietersen. He's starting to come good but I'm sure the coaches and selectors will be hoping for him to up that strike rate, might be ok against NZ but against better teams they might need their runs scored more quickly, plus in today's game a 40 strike rate is very low. Denis was a apparently a genius when it came to scoring.

What happened to Daniel Vettori? Feel like I haven't seen him in ages
Must be a pretty bad injury to be out for that long

Is it the time for England to reclaim #1 spot?

Apparently the Auckland quake was 4.0 on the scale (which I'm told isn't too bad). No damage reported. As for the Wellington weathere, here's Zozza: "Latest forecast from MetService for tomorrow: Rain becoming persistent. Morning southerly change. Issued: 4:54pm 17 Mar - sorry England, but unless you bowl out NZ tonight, it's a draw."

Gd start from NZ. It will be a tough contest when we face them. Ae should go all out spin attack. Their youngsters seems to playing pace very well.

This sort of bizarre batting is the reason why I hate watching cricket. WTF was that. They just goofed around for over 2 hours. They should've declared or pushed for few runs or at least occupy. They were doing NONE of that. I don't see the point in that.

The next 43 runs are going to be massive for New Zealand. England are currently 200/7. If New Zealand can make England follow on they have a rare opportunity to win the series 1-0. Getting rid of Root will be key.

England bowled out for 204. Surprisingly Kiwis decide not to enforce the follow on. Maybe they wanted to give their bowlers a rest and make England bat last on a crumbling pitch.

This is turning out to be a dumb call. Should've just bowled them out again. If these were 3 English wickets then NZ would've been 7 away from a series win.

This is probably the best NZ team since Fleming/Astle era. Quality batsmans and Quality seamers

These are bad signs! We are hoping to beat the Kiwis at home. Looks as if it won't be easy!

Learn Ash learn.

Their pace bowling is really gd too. Have two leftie. Khobor ache amader. We can only beat them if we make Indiansque pitch and play 3/4 spinners
. Or don't see us winning.

Dean Brownlie

BJ Watling

Neil Wagner

I see Cook has initiated his 'second innings match saving turtle batting'
