If you saw Shabbir today you will understand why he is one of the most gifted Bangladeshi batsman, but as with a lot of our batsman in the past, he is finding his feet. Give him time, he will come good and if he does we can win against any team. That is the difference in letting Shabbir bat at 3 and anyone else. He is out of form and the coaches need to give him confidence and really get into him like they got into Sarkar. Shift all focus to preparing him getting back to form like they did with Sarkar. Look at Sarkar now, how he is coming good.

If we can beat NZ on Wednesday, I think Bangladesh will be coming out of this Tri Series with a lot of confidence.

Can we just play like this against NZ please? play positively and aggressively, play freely and play to enjoy the match. If we play with a free mind I think we can beat them easily. We should be winning against them no questions asked. Tamim and co needs to start going at it pretty early and set a positive tone, chase down whatever total and build a big total and let the fast bowlers do the rest. Please play 4 seamers too.

congrats Bangladesh. congrats Mortaza. Today his captaincy was a stark contrast to what it was two days ago.

I give Bangladesh 9.8 out of 10 for today's efforts. (minus points for dropped catch and other very minor things). a near perfect game Alhamdulillah

Good convincing win
Both openers in form, SS always maintaining consistency with excellent stroke rate.
Lets beat NZ now.

I agree, Shabbir is a rare find for Bangladesh and he needs to be nurtured. When he is in form, he can be a match winner for us. I also think that perhaps his proper place is at 5 or 6 and may be Mosaddeq should be playing a little up in order.

Lol. Better to put him at no.7 and give deserving players to excercise their full potential. Mosaddek is middle order batsman, 4-5 should be his position. Mushy is genuine no.4, hence have to give no.5 to Mosa. We will get more runs from mosa using him at 5! I have no hope in Shakib when a little pressure comes his way.

Back to what? When he was on form can you remind me?

Because i have never seen anything different from him what we are seeing now.

When he looks good, he will play good stylish 40-ish innings. Once or twice (at best) a series. That's it.

That's not acceptable for a no.3 batsman. Never will be.

And he has never shown anything to suggest he is better than this ( Even if you consider domestic circuit ). So i'm kinda confused by your saying.

Finding his feet just yet? He has been playing for Bangladesh side for 3 years. You use such statements when it's 3 months.

The likes of Anamul and Nasir has had more success and won us more matches than Sabbir and neither of the two are around our main XI.

When will he bat well at the top order. He needs to score runs and not 30s. Today Joyce and Nial scored 40s and his team fell 100 runs short of a good score.

He should have atleast carried his bat

Yes I like the idea of promoting Mosadek to #5 exchanging slot with Sakib. Even it may not be working yet, I like the experiment with Sabbir at #3. A "langra" Sabbir is better than some of the past two-legged #3 that we tried. Sabbir/SS/Mosadek give me reason to dream great....other seniors don't ... we already know what they can do and expecting more at this stage of their career is not realistic. And yes ... I am eagerly waiting for Liton and Shohan... its not "if", its a matter of "when".

I try not to worry too much about ranking, rather enjoy the game one at a time. From my perspective (as a fan), more game is better regardless of ranking scenario.

Not sure. But AFAIK, since we haven't lost a game to the 12th ranked Irish team, we are probably out of danger and have secured our place for the 2019 WC.

We should gain 1 rating from today's win.

As of 18-May, BAN earned 2347 points from 26 matches (hopefully all matches b4 today were calculated). 2347 / 26 = 90.27, rounds up to 90 rating.

From today's match, we will earn: Our own rating + 10 = 90 + 10 = 100 points.
(2347 + 100) / (26 + 1) = 2447 / 27 = 90.63, rounds up to 91

just 2 rating behind SL

But this will be wrong if the points are calculated based on the whole series and not individual games.
