Default Here's a thing

Mashi seems to be a hardhitter. I think he is more consistent than Ash. Here's an idea. Why not make him a all-rounder, I mean he bats good, so if he bats well, make him a batter and put him in the opening. Ok!!!

No way. Look at what has happened to Pathan. Let Mash concentrate on bowling and just improve technique slightly with batting.

Tempting, but I'll stay away.

Mash should be polished, and he'll make a fine allrounder, and can help even more towards the late innings. His help has proved to be helpful in many matches...many BIG matches...such as SA and NZ'. But he should concentrate more on bowling, than batting.

Mash is good when the ball is worn out.........when less movement on the seam and rarely picks up hitting the surface........so he is good at slogging..... when ball moves more in the air from the fast bowler who tends to make the yorker length balls and got hammered by him....putting him for the opening wont be the answer. he has the great reflex and strong arms........but lacks the techniques of a batsman .....he wont be able to negotiate the early seam movement.........dont try him for this job.

Hitting in slog overs does not means to be a good batsman. Mash once tried as nightwatchman in a test and he survived only few balls. Let him do his basic tasks with ball and whatever comes in his long handle in the deepth is handy.

come on guys, let him play his own way, don't think too much, everyone is doing there job well, so why we need to put him as a opening batsman? this is too much, when we already have four opener in our current team. bro wake up and see the world in day light.

Mushfiq can be used anywhere based on the state of the game.

he is more of a innings builder.

He is surely ill be bulding him like Wasim, good in bowling and also before retirment his batting became more matured. Since Mashrafee is still young, he has more potential than the alround the performance of Wasim. He is better in his current position.

Eventhough it's never gonna happen, I am happy atleast a few ppl are paying attention to his growth as a batsmen. He has a first class hundred, in our first and only 20-20 he gave an awesome allround performance, his average in the last 30 matches (around half of his total 62) is above 20 and his strike rate is amazingly high. HIS STRIKE RATE OF 100.98 IS THE 6TH HIGHEST IN THE WHOLE WORLD. He likes to hit over the top and so I think when we really need a tornado, we can send him to open or who knows one down. Btw, did I mention I am a big fan of his batting

I agree, there is logic behind it and that's why Dav put him on the lower order to increase the run rate.. Good to see some ppl still got brians..

Mashrafe bats straighter than a lot of our top/middle order bats. he definitely has the potential to become one of the better all rounders in his time. however, for now, i would like to see him where he is, i.e. at #8. if he improves a lot over the next few years, we might as well promote him, depending on our batting resources then.

Yeah make him an allrounder and ruin like pathan!!
Hell no.. let him bat at 7..where he bats..and let him concentrate more on bowling.
He can practise batting if he wants to..to improve..but atleast he should not be considered as one of the top 5 batsmen!
