They have started bad [bowling, fielding and batting], but will do good in real games I guess [I feel]. We should not count much on this 14 over twenty/20 match outcome, to me its mean nothing but a practice match [before the series].

I am really disappointed with Tamim last night. He forgot all he learned in last few series. Moving away to make room, charging down the wicket -the old habit returned. What happened to the Tamim who played so well with real cricketing shot from crease in NZ and Aus. JS needed to sit down with him to sort out his head.
I have no comments on Ash & Zunaid. Saying anything is simply wastage of space.
BTW what happened to our fieldings. Three missed catches - none of were tough and numerous miss field and fielders not charging to ball. Yesterday Mushy fielded ball from 30 yd circle more than once. SA scored more than 15 runs just pushing the ball in and around 20 yd from wicket.
I am expecting a murder; Last night was our best chance of winning anything in SA.

I hope Mashrafee gets well and play the match. The team is really incomplete without him.
I have a feeling that we will do well this time in SA, at least in ODIs. Looking forward to the match.

Does any one know why Mash didn't Play in 20/20 ? He couldn't do any worse then Mehrab could he ?
And it wasn't Mehrabs fault to be in 20/20 . It's our team management.

Don't know how will they survive 50 overs? SA batting is not great except Gibbs, AB, and Amla. But our batsmen showed scary symptoms in those 14 overs. I have not seen a frontfood push in the cover. All batsmen know only one shot. Nayeed only know the midwicket region. I am very frustrated. Probably, Shak and Rock will save us.

I am glad we lost in T20 match. A win would surely have made tigers suffer from complacency. Hopefully this loss will fuel them for a hunger to win in ODI's.

Why waste our best fast bowler in a 20 over affair (or 14 overs as it turned out).
South africa didn't field their first choice ODI team, nor did BD. I'm pretty sure Mash was being rested. i'm glad he was, he deserves it after all the work he's been doing...

What is the pitch's history? Is it fast and bouncy or the one BD played in the T20. That pitch was great for BD.

That's a good idea. That's why we never go on to win against big teams probably. Just to stay away from Complacency !!

The pitch should be flat and great for batting. SA scored 415 against Zim in 2006 on this ground. Boucher scored 147 in 68 balls.
Last time we played them here they posted 301/8. We were bundled out for 133. At one stage 5/26, 6/43. Ntini shesh korye disilo.

I'm glad that Mash got rested - though had he played, our chances of winning the game would have been much higher.
The 2020 was merely a high octane practice match.

I can see how you can conclude that T20I is the future of limited over cricket. I cetainly won't mind that.
But nothing can replace test cricket. 20 Overs is not nearly enough to showcase a batsman's skills and charecter or a bowlers tenacity. "Wham-bam-thank you ma'am" is T20I, while test cricket is the gentleman's courtship. I think KP said it best, White colour separate men from boys.
