We cannot discount the importance of Practice matches. If some one fails to show his form in practice; I won't expect anything from him the actual matches.

Even though there is a ODI tomorrow against India in St Lucia, most of my attention will be on the A team fixture. The current generation of cricketers are beyond hope tbh, the likes of Devon Smith, Runako Morton, Ryan Hinds etc are lost causes so we are placing all our expectations on the youngsters in the A team like Barath, Simmons, Powell and Creary.
If cricinfo does not cover it, there will probably be regular updates on this website:
http://www.bcacricket.org/2008/index.htm
I will try my best to find a radio link as well but I can't make any promises.

I will try my best to post scores as I hear them if I can't find a radio link for everyone. Luckily the match is in Barbados where the coverage is usually very good. If it was in Jamaica, for example, there would be no coverage at all.

I am based in the UK nowadays, but I am a Trinidadian in every other aspect (and I have to admit I have a slight bias towards the Trinidadian cricketers like Barath and the Bravo brothers).

Roti all the way bro. We call them doubles in sweet sweet T & T. Not so keen on jerk chicken, that is more of a Jamaican thing, though I still have it occasionally.

WIFan ... welcome back. Long time no liming ... didn't realize you were a part of da trini posse ... Fatima, St. Mary's or QRC?
On to the topic at hand ... thanks for the 411 on the player. I think TE has described our potential 11 pretty well.

Cheers RazabQ, I am Queens Royal College and proud my friend, QRC all the way (still think about that place somedays during an English winter)..
Really looking forward to tomorrow. An A team match to start the tour at the best cricketing facility in the Caribbean with a ODI taking place in St Lucia at the same time. Fantastic!

i think this is the XI should play
tamim
junaed
rokibul
mehrab jr
sakib
mushfiq
sahagir
mashrafe
enamul jr
shahadat
rubel
i think ashraful is an auto choice for test match, so he can enjoy a rest and we can see sahagir vs mushfiq rahim fight, it will be a test for sahagirs wkt keeping, plus we can see rubel and shahadats effectiveness and enamul's come back form.

do u guys know standby 5: razzaq, rasel, shamsur shuvo, nazmul and nayeem islam also went to west indies. that means they are definitely part of ODI, which is an excellent news. that means more pressure on rest of the players. if someone dont show form, will have to return. in my opinion, if they perform or not,
following 5 should return:
enamul jr (razzaq)
mehrab jr (nayeem)
shahadat (rasel)
mahbubul robin (najmul)
mushfiq rahim(shamsur rahman shuvo)
what do u think?

if you're going to rest ash i'd definitely be playing riyad, even if you weren't resting ash i'd be seriously considering riyad. the biggest problem with dropping ash from the test side is that no one in the team would have ever before scored a test 100, whereas ash has scored multiple and even though he's inconsistent and can play like a school boy those 100s he's got have to count for something.

Wiseshah, what is the source? I didn't read anything about these playing going to the WI.
And I agree with you on these 5 players to return.
