Default Shahadat may not be about to win a Test for Bangladesh, but he could wreck someone\'s summer

I did not know that Shahadat Hossain Rajib broke 3 helmets in the U-19 practice session with his bowling. I did not even know that it was Shahadat who broke Mathew Sinclair's toe in a warm-up match and threw him out of the series.

Guardian comments, “Shahadat may not be about to win a Test for Bangladesh, but he could wreck someone's summer". After reading this article, I am now on a destructive mood. Does not matter it's a Head, Toe or a Wicket, Lets just get some!!!

Abso-freakin-lutely !!

Wanna smell blood, see broken helmet, ribs, eye sockets. Want crushed toes, thumbs. Wanna feel the sheer agression. Instil fear in their hearts, take away the momentum...

Even Talha is very agressive, we may see some surprise in Anwar also.

My humble opinion is that Shahadat has been greatly over rated. In the poll about favorite player, he got 2nd most vote. I'm not sure why. No doubt he got pace. Lots of raw pace and probably he is the fastest bowler of the country. Moreover, it is true that raw pace is the first thing someone need to be a good fast bowler and as a result, in time he can really turn out to be an asset. But talking strictly about this tour, he is way over rated than he is supposed to be. In my opinion, he stays at fourth place in the list of pacers after Mashrafee, Taposh and Aftab. Yes, I mean Aftab. In this early summer English condition he can be much more effective than Shahadat. with time Shahadat will turn out to be really good and will go past Aftab and Taposh easily, but that's a different story, I'm talking about this tour only. Here is why: the only thing Shahadat got is pace, with no variation in speed and I never heard anyone talking about swing in his bowling. English batsman are used to facing fast bowling and he will not be a problem for them. Secondly, think of the u19 tour he had. He pretty much got hammered by the English kids. I'm not sure how much improvement he has since then. On top of that, while trying to focus on speed he is not a very good line and length bowler.

Don't get me wrong, if he plays I want him to wreck the English batting line up just like you do. But that is IF he plays. All these talk trying to make two points: do not get your hope too high about Shahadat, you might ended up with a broken heart. Second, think twice before dropping Aftab from the final squad. Keeping his batting aside, he is the 3rd best bowler in the team.

Shahadat needs to ball with pace and also with line and length..should not get aggressive if English batsmen go for big shots...Vaug, Trescho, Flintoff, Strauss and others are dangerous. He has to keep his brain cool and just bowl with heart without loosing patience.

BabuBangla, SS used to be a regular here for a long time. He kind of disappeared for last few months (before you joined probably).

He is (in)famous for his pessimistic post. I mean in this forum we use SS and pessimism synonymously. probably u have seen some references but did not recognize it as someones nick. Anyway, his posts are good guidance for us refraining us from wild dreams.

thank you for your kind comments...I was realistic and still will be but I am hoping for a good fight to prove them tigers can fight
I was lost in the darkness...hoping to see the light when Masri will do the first runup or Gullu will face the first ball in Lords. If eleven of them show the light, it will be more clear..we all will come out from darkness...otherwise we all will be lost again

hmm...looks like there's a very significant link between the disappearance of these two BC members...while FRB was away spending time with his Thai girlfriend, SS was enjoying his post reunion honeymoon with his ex. 2tai narighotito!
