The CI preview doesnt even mention Mash's name.

Cricinfo made three mistakes while predicting the Mumbai XI. I hope they have made a mistake here as well. McCullum being made captain is actually a disadvantage for Mash as McCullum will now occupy one foreign spot for all the matches in the tournament.

I think there was never a multiple-captain strategy. The KKR guys always wanted McCullum as their captain. SRK is a shrewd guy instead of announcing this in India he came to South Africa to announce their captain. They knew if they did that it in Kolkata they would not have gotten out of there alive.

Buchanan has already stated Gayle, Hodge will be starter, Mcculum is captain, that only leaves Mendis. Today Murali was left out so maybe Mash will play, i'm fairly confident he will play with Gayle providing the spin. Plus mash can bat.

Not really, McCullum would have started all his games like he would have done last year. He is explosive, an opener and wicketkeeper, KRR don't have any of this.

even though i like the indian cricket team, i got to say, these indians seem to have something against bangladesh. remember they didnt even consider bd in the last ipl, which caused some bd players to leave for icl(weakened our national team) and then they took bd into consideration,only two players. didnt even pick ashraful in the mumbai team, and i wont be surprised if they dont pick mash tomorrow.

i think mash is playing tomorrow, it's a strategic decision confirmed by media reports. First of all the wickets are seamer friendly in south africa, so he gets the edge over mendis, secondly he bats better than langevelt, so he gets an edge over him. I will praying whole night and day tomorrow before the start of the match for him to fire at all guns and get a win for KKR. Infact I am already nervous about the match. God help me

why are you guys all happy MAsh is playing? as if KKR is doing us a favor. No...it's not for OUR best interest he is playing. it's for THEIR best interest! what the heck is wrong with you people....as if we should be cloud-9 because someone has done us a favor. if anything, "WE" are doing them a favor by lending them our golden child.

c'mon man ! there were 11 BD players in the auction and only the known and performing faces got bought. of course not picking sakib was stupid.

as long as BCB doesn't have a tough domestic scene where the players can show their skills, BD players will be at a similar disadvantage.
but emotion apart, did ashraful really deserve a place in the MI team in stead of any of the other foreigners ?

After Kumle's performance in CapeTown yesterday.....also seeing Harbhajan and Jayasuriya doing good as spinner, KKR will always be wanting to play Mendis. I see very little chance for Mashrafe to play today.

Haha you're too optimistic, McCullum definately would have played every single match even if he wasnt captain. He was their top batsman last year.

And making McCullum the Captain was Buchanan's idea not SRK's, SRK isnt the coach of the team ,to decide whos gonna play and whos gonna be the captain...hes the owner, he just sits back and hopes his team does the best!
