Super Series-outcome
What do you think the results will be?
I cant wait for this series, i dont realy see the point of injuries, not being a team etc.. but this is a good thing for cricket.
i expect the odi series the icc x1 to win, but the test maybe a draw, or the aussies winning. It will be a fascinating series, and i think this brings all the nations of cricket together, should be a contest, lets hope.

See the things is. In the Aussie team all the playes know about each other they will be able to communicate. And in the rest of the world team its a like a big mix of the best in the business who doesnt know anything abt each other except that they are all good and the best that their country has to offer. Its always hard to communicate under these circumstance.
I am really keeping my fingers crossed for rest of the world here. Aussie shud keep getting the taste of their own medicine.

this series is a crap. i do not care about the result. Let the series goes to the dustbin of histrory of cricket. this is simply a money making gimmick as mentioned by ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed talking about the Super Series
"We are confident that our twin objectives of meeting event revenue targets and achieving maximum global audience reach will be met."

any particular reason for calling it crap???
it is a money making gimmick....do u know how much money they normally make out of ashes and other test series.....???
its pure entertainment.....and by "achieving maximum global" audience the game will be one that will be watched by every1......
usually when bangladesh plays new zealand....people of carribean dont usually follow up the game....that wont be the case this time because......every1 will be tuned in...
you totally misunderstood that little quote and the purpose of this series...

i completely agree.
Cricket is not a global game yet, by doing this raises awarenss, moral, the quality of the game and its a challenge for the players also. cricket series gets repetitive after a while, this is a fresh change
In football we have All Stars 11 vs World 11, etc, may not be competitive but who cares, same in basketball, tennis, etc.....

Each player is getting around 100 000 macho U.S. greenback, so i dont think any problems of committment will arise from the world XI players
i'm pretty excited about it, but i wish there was some way to watch it over the net for a more affordable price than what willow tv is offering
should be awsum. i predict lara will do some awsum things

Super Series totally pointless? Think about it.
The money raised will go to the ICC which they will use for the good of the game, like developing minor cricketing countries.
Come on people, get up for it and cheer on the World X!
Something already shocking has happened in the warm up. Kevin Pietersen took a catch

Cricket is a waste of time.
Okay, heck - we all love to waste some time.
Those whole super-series is a crap. Aussie Vs ROW? Aussies the who? They can't bat (except for Warne) and they can't bowl (except for Warne again!) Aussie the WHO? :p

Shoaib Akthar looks considerably shorter than what we are used to seeing. Anyway Afridi is my favourite player and he looks tall enough. Hopefully Shoaib can get some early wickets ... and then the aussies would definitely be in trouble.

Super series is a good idea. BUT.. i think it should be held once every four or two years so that it is more "valued". If they make it a way for the top team to consolidate on their top form over a long period of time, then it will be valued by the fans as well as making money (which it will undoubtedly do).
BTW, I went to the practive match at Junction Oval, Melbourne. Entry was free and the stands were packed. People had to stand up it was so full. It was a very good game, and got to see all the top players in the world.
Cricket is back in Oz...

I think it could have been quite a good interesting series aswell as reaching the required financial target. If Australia had comfortably won the Ashes there might be even more interest in this game to see if in fact ANYONE could beat them.
The only problem I have is the official status of the matches. And the other World XI matches for that matter. World Series Cricket weren't even official ODI's

Rather than the Aussies vs ROW it should be ROW1 vs ROW2 held every two/four years to promote Cricket. All this does is more hatred against the aussie team by the rest of the world. The assies are not the same well oiled machine as they once were. Or they could do the North (ind, pak, sl, eng, bd) vs the South (aus, nz, sa, zim, wi).
South has the goods, and the North has the followers. Would make money and promote global cricket. Alternately, the venue would change to north and south different country will host.
In this case, people would not complain, oh! Aussies are not the #1 team, or in the future bd is not the #1etc.
