Shakib wants to play T20 league in UAE in December

আঙুলের চোটের কারণে বেশ কিছু দিনের জন্যই ক্রিকেটের বাইরে থাকতে হচ্ছে সাকিব আল হাসানকে। অস্ট্রেলিয়াতে আঙুলের চিকিৎসা করিয়েছেন। নিজেই জানিয়েছিলেন অন্তত তিন মাস লেগে যেতে পারে তাঁর সেরে উঠতে। সে কারণেই হয়তো ডিসেম্বরে আরব আমিরাতে অনুষ্ঠেয় এক টি-টোয়েন্টি টুর্নামেন্টে খেলার জন্য বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের (বিসিবি) কাছে অনুমতি চেয়েছেন এই অলরাউন্ডার।

ইউএই টি-টোয়েন্টিএক্স নামের এই টুর্নামেন্ট খেলার জন্য ২৩ ডিসেম্বর থেকে ১ জানুয়ারি পর্যন্ত অনাপত্তিপত্র চেয়েছেন সাকিব। তবে বিসিবি সেই অনুমতি দেবে কি না, সেটি সময়ই বলে দেবে। বিশেষ সূত্র জানিয়েছে, সাকিবকে এই টুর্নামেন্টে খেলার অনুমতি দিতে চায় না বিসিবি।

সাকিব নিজেও প্রথম আলোর সঙ্গে আলাপকালে বিসিবির কাছে আবেদন করার কথা জানিয়েছেন, ‘আমি বোর্ডের কাছে আমিরাতের একটি টি-টোয়েন্টি টুর্নামেন্টে খেলার জন্য অনুমতি চেয়েছি।’

গত জানুয়ারি মাসে আঙুলের চোটে পড়েন সাকিব। গত এশিয়া কাপের সময় সেই চোট গুরুতর আকার ধারণ করে। পাকিস্তানের বিপক্ষে ম্যাচের আগেই তিনি দেশে ফিরে আসেন। ঢাকায় তাঁর একটি জরুরি অস্ত্রোপচার হয়। সেখান থেকে তিনি যান অস্ট্রেলিয়ায়। গত সপ্তাহে দেশে ফিরে তিনি জানান, তাঁর ক্রিকেটে ফেরা পুরোপুরিই নির্ভর করছে কত দ্রুত তাঁর আঙুলের সংক্রমণ সারে, তার ওপর। আগামী মাসে ঘরের মাঠে ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজের বিপক্ষে সিরিজে খেলার ইঙ্গিত অবশ্য দিয়েই রেখেছেন সাকিব।

well this should be interesting given papon said him playing WC is the goal and everything else is secondary. Did he not already filled his quote of 2 foreign league per year? He played IPL, any thing else?.. it's hard to keep track with so many leagues now.
the guy wants to make as money as possible. He has a kid. I don't blame him.

He also plays for WI T20 league. Dubai is closer. Should be richer as well. Why not drop WI one?

This year he played in only 1 foreign league which is IPL.. didnt play PSL or CPL.. so he he within his right I guess...

I would say it's a bad idea to do so. Doesn't he play with a pain. Why send him and risk our World Cup chances? BPL also starts from Jan 5, 4 days after UAE T20X ends. Let him only play the BPL and IPL before the World Cup. He can play anywhere after that.

Am always in favor of players making money by playing leagues such as this but can't agree with Shakib with this one. Should have world Cup in his mind rather than making some extra few bucks on the side, at least for this coming year

Well, if Shakib plays again West Indies' up coming home series, then I don't see why he can't play in UAE!? If he is fit, he should have the right to chose....

This X league is another useless arrangement which nobody will watch like APL

If Doctors give him the green signal that he is fully recovered it might not be that bad although I wouldnt risk losing him again.

I know its only T20s but it gives him some practise to play against foreign opposition.
