As myself:
Eshen bhai,
despite all said and done, its members like you who enrich our forum with their thoughts, perspectives and arguments. We lost TheWatcher, we lost gatekeeper, losing you was another painful blow.
The contribution from model members like you is what keeps our forum standard high.
As mod:
Thank you for your input

I sincerely believe BC has a wonderful group of mature, tolerant, knowledgable and humorous moderators- with exception to one or two, of course. They intervine only as a last resort to keep things decent, pleasant and healthy. Hence, the word moderation or moderators.
Man! If I was a moderator I would have been a trigger-happy-banning-kind-of-moderators...you know, the one everybody loves. To begin with, I would have banned all the nickers begins with the word "B". Lately, letter B hasnt been one of my favourite alphabets.
So, moderators bros and sises, if you're over-worked and need an extra hand just give me a nudge or, better still, just whistle. You will find me willing
Hope Im not tempting faith here!

Bruno...discipline and following the system is the difference between say traffic in Germany and India. Rules and regulations prevents a place going amok into a bedlam. If you are being afraid of being straight jacketed.... oops! bad choice of words.... then I say tough luck.

As my Becker-watching humorless self, democracy is overrated. The most effective form of governance is dictatorship, where traitors are whipped to submission and one man rules with an iron fist.

anyone who feels that their feelings are being hurt at BC should stay away from any internet discussion of any kind.

In the end I assume, the majority of folks here have never met one another, have no clue what they look like or never even the heard the sound of their voice. A shadow has more visual presence than the posters here in relation to each other. Someone who seems arrogant in his writing may turn out to be a very pleasurable fellow in real life or vice versa. Personal attacks, insults , mudslinging are more inevitable in case of a disagreement due to the lack of real life repurcussions, as someone has pointed out. In that scenario, you have no alternative but to be tone deaf, though you can't hear the tone ironically! In the end, its meaningless as you have no clue who that person is, and you can't do anything about it. Growing a thicker skin is rule no.1 in a forum. I think the Mods do an excellent job here. They have set their rules and we all try to abide by it with the best of our intentions. They have careers to look after and moderating is something they have to do on top of it. As adults, we have to self-police ourselves to help them out, and in case its not possible, then the report button is always there. From time to time someone will get on your nerve, just as this fellow did to me yesterday, but at the end of the day, he matters little to me as I to him.

Coming from someone who have questioned mods action at times and openly on the forum, I think the Mods/Admins does a great job here.
They are the thankless bunch who put in their own time and effort voluntarily to uphold the values and the standard of our forum. Offcourse we all contribute in that process and this forum will mean nothing without us.
As already mentioned earlier by few posters, this place has diversed membership. We have members from Tokyo to Texas, from Sydney to Saskatchewan. Sometimes a strict line moderation is needed to keep things in place.
But offcourse there will be difference of opinions and even I myself did not like some of the actions mods have taken. But i've believed that if i ask reasonably, i will get my answer and i did. In terms of real life, they are the authority and despite my displeasure, i accepted that, as long as they had reasonable answers too, in which most cases they did.
But mods also nees to realise they are humans too. They make mistakes too. If any mod/admin tries to impose their views or take over the top action, it does not get unnoticed by the members. It creates resentment and it doesn not do good to anyone.
Just like real life, there are things i like, things i dont. There are members whose views I not necessarily share or even agree, but i love that different point of view. I learn from their difference of perspective and it only broaden my own knowledge.
If we all respect each others views and be civil while presenting our case, it makes life better for everyone.
Ok, i should stop here. ( I started with something and now going somewhere else. blame it on Godfathers part II i'm watching. This little post took me about an hour to write).
Oh, btw, welcome back Eshen.

I love this thread...Allah has eased the burden in my heart I have felt sometime, receiving fierce criticism in other thread(s) various times...keeping cool and controlling anger for me is sometimes very very difficult..
I am young, and my IQ is not up to par...I just like to keep things simple and straightforward...

Bruno, GP -> You should consider some "alternative" forums perhaps to continue this direction in your discourse?

Prediction: Bruno would be successfully getting under a lot of people's skin here in BC.
Moderation in BC was at a very low standard earlier namely because of one particular admin but now the moderation is as good as it should get. No complains.
