Default Asia Cup predictions

Dear friends,

Asia Cup will begin shortly. The format is such that the preliminary round matches will see the elimination of two teams ( likely to be HongKong and UAE). The remaining 4 teams will play each other in round robin. The top two teams among them with play in the final.

So the question is, what will be the outcome. Will it be India, Pakistan, SriLanka, a huge upset or Rain plays the spoilsport.

So let us predict the outcome. It will be helpful if you can also give the basis of your prediction also.

So let us pull out our crystal balls. Let us see who has the last say and the last laugh.

Thanks in advance to all the prospective participants.

Yep!
look at two teams.
HongKong--"all rented players from pak,
ind, eng..so they will give a very good
fight..i remember in ICC we struggled w
them

Pak- with BD they are like tigers to save
their humiliations..they have so much
talents.

so 0-2 result. I wish we had talented rented players

Default garanteed!

this is the first time ever bd will play on the second round of a tournament. granteed!

keeping in mind the canada disaster, i think the players learned enough not to take anyone lightly. and, thats all we need. if we do not underestimate hk, we'll win one match easily. that wil take us to the second round. the question is, anywhere from there? don't see much chance. since danguli's comment, i'm pissed with not only him but also the whole india team, so i hope the final is between srilanka and pak. and taking the home advantage, srilanka wins the tuornament.

I think the Pakis will bag the trophy to avenge the defeat in the home series against India.

SS comes telling all those rubbish. Then when BD wins he comes and become very happy. If BD win SS should apologise.

Yeah, I second the voice to stop attacking SS. He(or is it she?) is our resident pessimist, and plays a vital role is venting depression and anger during our dark times. I am, of course, more than happy to forget about SS's remarks when we actually win.

As for predictions:
BD: - We will beat Hong Kong with a squeaky and uninspiring game.
- We will be comprehensively beaten by Pakistan
- we will give our second round opponents a major scare, but lose the game anyhow.

The competetion: I think Pakistan will win.

SS is one BD cricket fan who is ready for the worst case scenario. He is one of a kind in this forum. I guess thats why he is the resident pessimist.

But in any event, I wouldn't go as far to say BD will loose against HK. Thats far too stretching even if it is pessimist remark.

Just take all the pessimism as Anti-Jinx

Public warning - you've been too quick on the draw and have on numerous occassions engaged in personal and ad hominem flames.

We all would appreciate if we all try to step back and not let our usual Bangladeshi passion get the worse of us.

Thanks
