Afghanistan is the "New Bangladesh"
They upset us in the Asia Cup for a huge win, and just the other day they lost to Malaysia in the ACC PL 50 over tournament. Had a number of their first string players in the squad too.
AFG are quickly proving they're on the same track of inconsistency as us.

There was a bit of arrogance and overconfidence when they took on us in the World Cup T20.
But in general Afghanistan is progressing very fast. If we are developing at 5-7% they are definitely progressing between 10-15%. They have an excellent coach in Kabir Khan. Recently they have appointed an Australian high performance coach to work at academy, youth level. Geoff Lawson (Former Pakistan Head Coach) worked with their Under 19 team in the past. They routinely train in Pakistan. Recently also signed an agreement with Sri Lanka, whereby Sri Lanka will provide assistance in their development.
Just after the war, they were the weakest football team in SAAF. Now they are the best even ahead of India. So dont be surprised if they start beating us more routinely in future.

Well, other countries' fans think BD fans act the same way. Yet another point of similarity.
Afghans are natural athletes. In soccer, there's no way any south Asian team can compete with them. And thats why AFG is now ahead of IND, PAK, and BD.
Cricket relies less on raw athleticism - though that never hurts - and more on aquired skills. 5 years ago AFG were around the 30th ranked side in the world, now they are 12th. So they have jumped 20+ places. Certainly quick and certainly quicker than us in the 90s.
That being said, this isn't the first time AFG has lost to "minnows". They lose as regularly to the teams like Malaysia and Uganda as we do to teams like AFG and IRE.

ek dike it is good for us amra aro koyekdin goribder moddhe borolok thakte parbo..
again feeling sorry for the cricket as a whole and the fact that after playing so many years we still have to think about them.
