Credits to BCB!
Well we are never late whenever it comes to bashing BCB so I thought the appreciation should also be there. Lets look at some of the things BCB has achieved of late,
1) Managed to convince ECB to continue with the tour despite political, terrorist situation in the country. Trust me, it took a lot of effort and dedication on their part to convince ECB and provide all the extra support.
2) Managed to convince the coaching staff to continue the coaching stint specially when there was an active threat for the foreigners. They managed to provide safer accommodation and security. Kalpagne was different. He wanted a different role so all the excuse of security is irrelevant here.
3) Found a high profile bowling coach for us. Even though they took their time, we can see how it was totally worth it. We were afraid of getting the likes of Prasad, Ramanayake. BCB managed to exceed our expectation here
4) While we didnt have any tours or the full coaching staff, BCB did an excellent job bringing in consultants like Aaqib Javed, Raju to work with our boys and the HP unit.
5) Appointed Helmot as the HP coach. Solid signing. Also appointed Rafique and got our best spinner ever involved with the boys.
6) Organized a quick tour with Afghanistan for preparations and also hired Samarweera as a consultant. Another signing is also pending according to BCB which will be announced very soon.
7) got a better selection panel and now rewarding the seniors for their performance.
there are some more minor things that are being done by BCB to get us rolling like. It may seem like these are things a cricket board should be doing anyways but I feel like BCB is doing it well and over. There are some people in BC that will always find a way to go down on BCB at every opportunity. But I may be one of the few who believe our board is much more competent, accomplished and professional then before and compared to many other cricket boards right now!
