Default A team full of 'Chicken Heads'!

I didn't want to open a thread for loosing just one match, but the term 'Chicken Head' forced me to open a thread and dedicate this term to our national team.

The way every single player got out today- this way a chicken runs and jumps. Trust me these players acted like a chicken and it seemed that some one was holding their legs (chickens act the same way if you hold their legs, they try to escape).

I am not calling for their heads (well chicken heads are tasty though ) nor I want any drastic change for the ODI series. But this is a pathetic performance. We threw our wickets away. Sorry NZ players I can't give you any credits.

I disagree. I think the NZ bowlers perfectly, bowled short balls and that was bound to happen. The batsmen was throwing kitchen sink at the bowlers from the moment get go. From fuller balls they changed their length to short. That did the trick.

Trapping opponents is not that easy. Some great catches as well. Perfect fielding placements by Vettori and the bowlers as well.

Give me a break! The Kiwis were very much aware of the players' weaknesses and set the trap.

At this level people will make strategies and apply those on the field. But not necessarily you have to fall on the trap.

Short balls, field placings ..these are part of the game. I didn't see anything extraordinary in the bowling. It was not unplayable anything. But still we suffered. Tamim could have avoided going at that one, Shakib played in such a way that there was a river between his body and his bat, Aftab played 7 balls and swung at everything and then got his first run. Naeem took his eyes off the ball and was played on, Mushfique caught right in front of the wicket against the spin of Vettori.

Anything else?

They were dancing like headless chickens as someone else mentioned. No excuse.

Period.

practice matches r held for a reason. we came from slow and stop picth to fast and bouncy picthes and its need time to cope with that... have you seen any U8 team coming to NZ (other than AUS as they r their neighbour) and not playing any warm ups?

twenty20 does not count much i believe, it does not have a ranking system.

ODI is more important, bangladesh needs to win the series. i believe they have the team to beat new zealand, they need to play well.

Good thing I slept through all of it. There's a world cup coming up, so be prepared for more humiliation.

There is an alternate hypothesis. Has it occured to any meber of the BC gang that we are not good enough (i.e. lack in skill, potential, physical stamina, determination, etc.) to threaten anybody but Zimbabweans. We should be releaged to associate status. He simply not there and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. So, turn around go back the way we came from. Start beating the like of Afgans and came back in 10yrs. I am disgusted beyond belief.

they do not need to be regulated to associate status. they beat zimbabwe 4-1 and they beat ireland 3-0 last time. bangladesh is in the middle of minnows and top sides currently. hopefully one series win against a top side will boost the team up.

cricket is like evolution (although i do not believe in evolution), it takes many years for a team to become a good team. new zealand took nearly 45 years to win a test match, keep that in mind.

what i am saying is be patient

I understand your point but like someone here already mentioned, we could suck less by playing a practice match.
Fact of the matter is we “suck”.

It just adds more frustration after making all these efforts to watch a game and we can’t even bat 20 overs.

Now that we got the "practice match" out of the way, let see how our boys perform!!
