wow!!...5 tests out of 7 we managed to take to the 5th day!..we barely managed 4th some years ago..so in the futures the draws will come..and also after that the wins..we just need a quality test bowler to support shakib..and some intelligence in the batsmen to not to throw their wickets away

Thanks for the numbers. It will be nice to see the highest/lowest overs survived per innings.
Are you sure 34.1 overs survived was for the entire match? That is just too scary.

Thanks Kabir, my mistake. It was meant to be number of overs survived in an innings of a Test match.
Corrected.

Lost in numbers !!!
Good one Miraz bhai.
I think the biggest problem has been highlighted in the very first line.
7 tests.
If you play only a handful number of test matches in a year, you can't improve. You have build on the momentum you create and work on it as you progress.
Whatever momentum the boys created for themselves early part of the year is all lost now. They havent played a single test since June/July, only God knows when the next test is. Been hearing about May next, but with the weather in hand during that time of the year, I doubt if we can finish a test match properly.
Need to play more tests. BCB have the facts backing them up now.
They should take the initiative. No one's gonna be that eager to play test with us, may be apart from New Zealand. But its upto us to convince, persuade, whatever it takes for us to make sure they do.
You gotta get it for yourself, no one's gonna come and serve you on a platter.

The reason why we didnt win or draw tests is because the fact that the highest number of overs played is 124. We need to improve on this. we have enough defensive batsmen to accomplish that. at our first batting innings we should always look to bat out 4-5 sessions. If a team bats 5 sessions in one innings, unless they go through disaster at the second, chances of them loosing the test is slim. 5 sessions should bring comfortable 500.
Other than that, much better stats than last year. We are doing good. To be honest i think our team will do better in test in future because we have such a long defensive batting order. (Sakib, Mushy, Mahmudullah, Naeem, Jahirul, Imrul) All we need is a good pace attack and we are set

Thanks miraz bhai. We have improved a good amount looking at those statistics. Scoring 400 twice is a great achievement to our team. We actually gave teams hard times this year which wasn't the case in the past. Our batsmen just need to work on not throwing away their wickets which still is the case. The good thing is we have players with good temperaments now. We just need siddons to keep on working with them and I'm sure our batsmen will keep on improving.
As for bowling is concerned we desperately need a spinner alongside shakib. Otherwise opposing batsmen won't be pressured enough. Shahadat is still a must in tests since he's the only pacer that's a true wicket taker at this level. With rubel and shafiul continuing to develop, our pace bowling should be set.

Its unfortunate that we didnt get to play those test matches against NZ. I think we could have managed to win at least one test.

This is not a bad stats. Most of the teams have struggled to do the same because pitches these days are prepared for T20s and ODIs. Also, our not winning a test contributes to it. If we are not losing by an innings, the bowlers do not get enough runs to defend in the second innings or the opponents declare early.
