Congratulations Pakistan.
All said and done, with new threads being opened every minute, I think its important for us to congratulate the winners of Asia Cup 2012 -- Pakistan.
Controversy free, playing cricket that isn't as exciting as the Pakistan of old, senior most team with regards to age, not the best batting line up, definitely some of the worst fielders, but regardless of it all -- Misbahs Pakistan have played every game with honesty and a lot of passion.
Their fielding in the final was quite surprising to see. Ajmal making a diving save in the outfield... wow . This is definitely not the strongest XI though and Pakistan need to draft in a lot of young players to prepare themselves for 2015 World Cup. Maybe even give Hafeez the captaincy since Misbah is already 37. But all of that later. Congratulations Pakistan. Hopefully we will play you guys again and beat you. For now, the grass is greener in your side.

I have got to give them credit. They were the better team. They won the title fair and square.
I am not a fan of Pakistan. Never was. Never will be. There's just too much bad blood there. But have got to give credit where credit is due. They were ice cool and deserved to win the title every bit as much as we did.

Congratulations to Misbah as well for his fantastic use of bowling changes. He used the 10 overs from ajmal perfectly and kept torturing our batters throughout with ajmal's short spells.

Good thread and congrats to them. There is a reason why Pakistan is an elite team and they've shown it over the years. They definitely have the best spin unit in the world. Then not to mention their pacers. Gul and Cheema are incredibly smart bowlers and our pacers could learn from them. Their batting could be better though. They should definitely include Ahmed Shehzad. If they play him then they could be a very strong team. Best of luck to them and we might face them again real soon on their home soil.

The experience came into play at the end. Every time it looked like a big hit was gonna put it in our favour, they clawed back to maintain their edge. Congrats.

I don't mean to be a kill-joy but "Bangladesh" defeated India we didn't. It's kind of sad how we seem to think Bangladesh is still a part of us when Bengalis don't want to have anything to do with us. Yes i'm happy that India is out of the series but I wish it had been because of us rather than Bangladesh.

THANK GOD someone posted this! I'm sick of these posts. And HELLO, it's not East Pakistan anymore! What are you some 80 year old person still dreaming in the 1970's? It's actually more offensive than affectionate to use that word. Emotional fool qaum. No wonder we're stuck with Zardari -

Congratulations. Well earned. Well deserved. You guys held your nerve and went passed the line. You guys didn't let us repeat our heroics. When Rahim hit that flyer to get caught in the outfield, while the ball was flying, I thought it was going over and out, I thought this is where it was going to turn around, just like the India match. I thought that 6 would will flip the game. Your bowlers did what the other couldn't.

It's great to see the good sportsmanship of Bangladesh fans to congratulate the Pakistan team on your discussion board.

I agree 100%. I watched almost every match of the BPL and I think Ahmed Shehzad deserves a chance to play for Pakistan in ODI's and T20's. Currently Pakistan has too many accumulators in our batting line-up for limited overs matches. We need more strokemakers who can up the run-rate.
Dav Whatmore did great things for Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and I hope he can do the same for Pakistan by getting the right personnel for each format and helping us with our traditional weaknesses in batting (especially chasing), fielding and running between the wickets.
